hey brian , !
ya long time for sure, lol.
thanks so much for stopping over & saying hi ~
this is such an elegant song - it`s beauty lies in its simplicity to me.
the simplicity of knowing what needs to be where & when.
you have been at this art a long time it seems , love the humbleness & warmth in the voice & lyrics. whereas i try & disguise my voice , yours is right out there in the open & up front.
very intimate !
not an easy task to pull off ! look forward to gettin` to more trax !

Hi Selftort - glad to see you're on the mix. I'm just getting back myself.
This is a very pretty song - I especially like the main guitar with a just a little wah at those pauses. The riffs are catchy and it sounds real nice, radio ready. I've heard some of your stuff going back to the old site, and I never noticed before, but on this one you sound a lot like Dire Straights. The drums are great too. And now I'm just hearing that nice violin/fiddle...
This is an excellent performance and I'll be sure to return frequently for additional songs.
Joe K.
As I've said before - Brian, you are an incredible lyricist - and musican!
Love the acoustic and slide guitar playing - fantastic performance and production!
Cheers, Bob
A beautiful Acoustic song, the melody flows so nicely and the mood is so comfortable...
Very nice guitar playing and excellent vocals: liked the performance!
Gonna listening to it again and again in my Italian night
Excellent, Brian.

Beautiful, slice-of-life storytelling in this song. The vocal phrasing drew me into the heart of the story. The song evolves and develops strong characters with a deft approach. Very poignant. Love the instrumentation as well.
Loved "Come on By" from the very first time I heard it. This is about as good as it gets. I know how much you labored over this one, and it was worth every minute to my ears. EXCELLENT songwriting, fine accompaniment, and perhaps your best vocals ever. You were a bit worried about the length, but I think almost every listener wishes this wonderful tune could go on forever.
Hi Bri...awesome pop-ish classic Rock with a sweet guitar tone follwing the verse story closely and colorfully...luv the harmonies on the chorus...great touch on the guitar finger picking back'N up those verses....soooo tasty....lyriX R 2 relate 2, anybody and everybody can...String solo fits right N with atmosphere and the drum fill, punch outz R sweet flavor 2 the feel of the song...ThanX 4 the listen and sharing...~Austn
Such wonderful sounds here, great guitars going on, your vocal here is absolutley wonderful. A marvelous piece of music my friend. Love the fiddle here, Wow, I am impressed and sorry I havent been here to hear more, but very bust Brian, hope you understand. Your biggest fan, The RatMan!
Beautiful feeling to listen to this warm voice of Mr. Brian Ralston... music is somewhere between country and classic rock. Musicianship and production on the highest level. Timeless beauty.

Great catchy chorus. Gentle performance. Wonderful instrumental part. This is a Hit song for the Eagles at least. Great job !
It's been a while since I've heard your music, but this is absolutely captivating Brian! The lyrics are wonderful, some of the best I've heard, as they tell the story. You evoke all sorts of emotions with this, it really hit the mark. Not only that, but the music and vocals carried the story perfectly - just superb.
Paul
a real good song,
i really enjoyed the guitars, and the chours is perfect!
great job here!

Great song - nice verses and a wonderful chorus. Well delivered and played. This is the kind of song that once I hear it, it seems to me I've known the song forever. Well done!
What a smooth and gentle ride through the memories of the heart! Love your voice and your soft, understated production. The instrumentation is so right and fitting of the material. All this talent and skill weaves into a magical road of gentle reflection and with a felling of friendship and brotherhood. Reminds me to take a look at the more relaxed side of life, which I think I tend to forget many times. Thank you for creating such a warm and friendly reminder to smell the roses, because they truly are worth the effort! Just wonderful, Brian!
Really cool tune, Brian ... you know it'll be on my shows, as others will be as well! Always loved your music! Well done!
Hello Brian,
You are a wonderful lyricist. You create stories that the listener is pulled into your reality.
Your passion always shines through in your creations.
The music you write as the vehicle of your lyrics is always pertinent. All well proportioned and logical.
Your chorus is beautifully done. Now that's a great modulation.
The solo break is lovely and most lyrical.
A well thoughtout and executed production Brian. I truly enjoyed this listen!
My respect.............
beautiful picking! tone is sweet---another emotional packed vocal performance and your songwriting is stellar!!! cheers--mark
Vocals are right on top where they should be. Very well written, performed and produced. SWEET!!
Sssh...
Listening...
Wait for song's end.

Well the same first rate storytelling.
I was concerned that the suitor would be arrested for stalking at first, but the path of true love won
It is a very intimate story...
Rich with so many little details, the scattered memories of momments from years.
Sad,yes, but ultimately life ends in a sadness of a loss that must be measured against a lifetime's worth and happiness.
Deeply thoughtful Brian, had me thinking of many things as the song played.
Superb vocals,and songwriting.
You and Guy are without Peer in my book for being solid gold song writers.
Greatly enjoyed.
Is this a new album,if so,man it's going to be good
Nigel.
Brain.... this is a perfect track to bring out your super vocal skills (so natural) and great story telling delivery. Just top notch man! Oh... not to mention the wonderful backing music and lyrics... that line "petrol haze" Loved it!
Brian, so similar to Gordon Lightfoot's song construction, lyrical content, and arp'ed acoustic chordings...and every bit as good. Sorry if you don't like this comparison, but I loved G.L. and I think you just wrote and performed a great song. Bravo my friend. Super! ~Blake
Fine tune Brian. Good recording too. This really has a nice feel, great story, and excellent space for all the well chosen components. Warmed my heart lad. Well Done!!!
Regards
John
Excellent! Beautiful and touching song. Very nice instrumental section with violins. The vocals are simply outstanding in that honest no frills way. Superb!
Brian, this song is so real......tears have fallen here, brother.......SO REAL, it touched me deeply. ALL is Fantastic.
Great, as always ! Wonderful guitars, and this famous voice.
nice bouncy stuff brian.. I agree with the folks listening to your story.. very lyrically told.. dig the travis picking on the guitars.. nice gut bucket kind of bass line.. got some nashville in there bud.. cheers.. thanks for the tale..
Very nice song Brian! I like story telling in song and you've told a great one with this lyric! The hard part is singing it so it has the emotional realism to draw in the listener and you've done it spot on here!
Recording quality is top notch and I didn't have to read the lyric to know what you were saying. More than well done!
Farrell

Everything lovely. Guitars, voice and delicate country feel. The lyrics were wonderful, confronting things we don't really like thinking about. very moving.
