I'd agree with tdelecce, the guitar sounds could use some work for a revised version and maybe beefing up the mix as a whole. But at least you got a whole song down, which is more than I do most of the time!
Alternative is a perfect classification for this song... for the minimal effort used in the music it really does the job in driving the lyrics into my head - it reminds me of Golden Earring's "Twilight Zone" or "Radar Love." Pretty cool if you ask me!
I think Gary is on a search for novel styles and a tune made up of chords expressed by one synthesizer note and the most minimal percussion track is trying to be alternative (although I am not sure that the variation at 2.24 is meant or not - I guess it is). But then Gary has the voice to pull this off, that is a kind of minimalist rant (of the nicest kind). I think Gary has a sublime style but does not exploit it often enough for me. ftlpope
