The guitar storm that this rides in on would give the Valkyries a real run for their money. Such a huge sound. Awesome.

Hey .. this is cool. Quintessentially Aussie -- Christo
Ah,an old fav redone
I am guess these redo's are to reflect your more live performances of the songs?
Well it has always been my belief that a really good song can stand in whatever style you put it in,stripped down or lavish arangement, and this is certainly proof of that statement.
You are a Harper in the truest sense, you write songs, and you write songs because you are a harper,it is the very essence of yourself.
The acoustic sounds very nice indeed mate...
But the star is obviously the vocals/lyrics...
A perfect photograph of sound,it's all there from the dust on the floor to the smell of alcohol in the air,and all populted by the small people of the world, struggling on heroicly against the seemingly insurmountable odds of life.
Excellent Brian.
Nigel.
Just stopping by for a dose of your powerful musical expressions Brain. A wonderful real life story telling style with texture in your voice that projects straight from the soul. I love it man!
You write such great lyrics Brian. Acoustic sounds great. This song is just so open with acoustic only. I would love to hear this with some strings in a "big production" setting. Fantastic tune!
got a strange urge for a cold beer, or maybe not
Have to say this is a great song, really like the strumming, alot of body to the acoustic, very nice. The vocal is quite impressive, emotional and powerful, the lyrics are perfect for your performance here.
..talented stuff, one of those songs that stick to your ribs, congrats..
Man you've got such great pipes Brian...your vocals are so damn solid. I couldn't sing like you in my wildest dreams. And the lyrics you are writing make such poignant statements, working so well with your voice. Let's not forget the solid acoustic guitar and the song. It all adds my friend. You've got some remarkable talent. Kudos mate!! ~Blake
Solid acoustic/vocal performance. This song is strong lyrically, too. It doesn't need any more than what you have here.
This is just great, Brian! You've got everything right here. And the chorus is a knockout! Pure brilliance. I'm going to have a drink "for your Queen and your country" and YOU personally. God bless you man!
Damn Brian, Love the guitar...Stealable...Great vocal with excellent lyrics..WOW, this has power, I`m impressed . This has winner written all over it...So pleased there`s a d/l option..
Peace n love Mags xxx
The six o'clock swill. Not my generation but I heard alot about it - a bit of panic drinking till "time gents", with the repercussions paid later. A classic Aussie story and good for the telling - just great - as always with your music. Excellent rhythm work on that acoustic!
Hey Brian this is a GREAT song! I'm back in front bar of the Court Hotel c1972 as I type this - "At home there's a meal on the table" - I recall an exasperated wife storming into the pub one evening and slamming hubby's meal down on the bar!
Really interesting blog about it's (re)construction also.
Another excellent tune with very intense and powerful vocal. I agree with fep, the chorus really grabs you. Very impressive.
Ok Brian, I had written the first review before I read your blog about attending the "Pat" seminar. I'm not familar with this name but from memory, I knew something was different about this song that made me like it better :o) Now I know and it's much more invlolved than just putting up an acoustic version of it! Well done!
Farrell
This is a cracking song and my personal favourite of the day. There is pure passion in the performance. amazing vocals, well done really enjoyed this one
WOOO how i love these submissions of raw talent.
aBIGfanIam.
Excellent performance! Thanks for these Mr B!!
Enjoyed very very much!
This song got taste of life...your vocals are top notch again...i like song and overall atmosphere.
Gary C
Just you and your guitar... and you make it happen. Man when you built out that chorus, that just grabs me. Great performance and songwriting.
pretty nice version B.. like your singing in this genre.. I read your going back to Pat.. my friend boneman took an online course from him.. but it can't help those with no real music talent..
and good songwriters don't need help.. so why are you going? you're already a good songwriter.. cheers..
I think I'll drink to this song!
I dig your attitude Brian!
I didn't hear anything that should be considered "explicit content"!
nice to see a new one!! loving the way you are singing this!!acoustic work is impeccable!!!great sense of emotion!!really pushing it out--gotta love it!! mark
Hey Brian, I've said this before but it bares repeating, I really like this acosutic side of you! Not that the other version was bad but I guess I just like the honesty of this performance that I hear in your guitar and your voice. Excellent and the choruses' impact is very powerful! Oh almost forgot, the lyric is another selling point.
Farrell
Beautiful Song! This is definitley one of my favorites! Holley
