I'm a fan of modern tango and happy that I discovered this recording. In your notes you write that you think it needs something. For me, it does not have enough contrast. That is, the mood stays the same throughout the piece like it's stuck. Think of taking the dancers on a journey. Above all, tango needs to have more passion and more interesting melody. It might help to explore Astor Piazzolla's music, internalize the things that speak to you, and then have them bubble up in your music in your own style.
Dark, intriguing and very ambient. liked the percussion line. Synths are excellent well done
Now this was very different in a good way! Almost cinematic...Percussion holds it all together nicely. Dark & suspenseful.
Stu my good man, you've done crossed over into the classically mad and slightly scary world of the Tango. That synth is sinister, I love it. The drums weave in and out of conciousness as it creeps along, did I say creepy? yes in a glorious way. Theres a haunting background rumbling going on that gives this empty room feeling that your just not sure of. This influences me...excellent stuff stu.
Whoa...Now that`s a great big, thumping drum intro..Sounding so dark and sinister, like an army from the dark ages marching through a forest..(I`ve just got home from a walk in the woods and my imagination is running wild)eheheee,
