That tone is so powerful. Really sails over the intro before sitting up and barking like a Cane Corso ready to chase down a bad guy. The picking technique is killer, with a huge vocabulary of...

Back for another listen (heard it on another site) and it still rocks! The line "What's Mine Is Mine" is a great hook. I dig the single guitar intro and of course the bluesy harp work is always a...

Dark, moody and edgy. The gregorian-esk chants and to the simmering flavour. Very tasty. Nice one Bill

WAR...what is it good for....ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!
Excellent protest song. I thought the background music did fit the tone of the song...trying to pound it into the hawks (of late, who's knowledge of war comes from watching Rambo) brains that war is a terrible thing to all, soldiers, civilians, children. Really effective use of There's...There'll..There's.... often used in political speeches to make a point. The only line I find could maybe be a bit adjusted (in my opinion only) was "There'll be no shopping in the stores", to me sounds a little soft. Maybe something like "There's children starving, the family is dead on the floor". Sorry, I'm ranting now. Mine could be too hard, might keep people from listening. Anyway, another song that should be on the radio. Best wishes,
Dan
This song is doing well on Neil Young's LIVING WITH WAR TODAY site - as it should be. Maybe there's a magic number - yet to be reached - when the sheer volume of "protest" songs will put an end to war forever. Your song is a part of the solution, and that's all that matters. Of course, the fact that it has strong words, fine music, and potent vocal conviction behind it helps a lot.
You got this up over on Niel Young's site?
It certainly has astrong message KB thats for sure a message that is put across really well.
Agian theres some fine guitar work here and agian the track has a live feel to it ,are you recording in a live room ? the whole band all at once.
Not that it really matters at the end of the day the message is whats coming through the most here.
Meaningful

I liked the feel and sound of the music right from go. Enjoyed the whole track. You sure do sound similar to Self Tort here vocally.
Very strong, heartfelt vocal to pump out those great lyrics. I have to agree with some of the others have said about the mix. It's such a good song, but the mix (separation) would reallt take this over the top and add some dynamic punch instead of mushing it all in the middle.
Still, this is perhaps my favorite among your tunes ... and they are all solid, good tunes.
Everything sounds centered in the mix. I think this song would come alive with some seperation. That aside. Good playing and everything fits well.
KB, I've listened to all your posted songs and I think this is the one I like the most. Nice work.
Hey KB -
Had a listen to this track with the slight, ok obvious, political overtone hehe. Delivered with a lot of passion. Music and vocals are good but I think your mix is holding you back a bit. Might want to visit http://www.imusicscene.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=93 and check on the recording studio or better yet the mix my song forum. It would be interesting to hear an a/b comparison with a different mix.
