Alot of truth in that saying, Especially if you over analyze things like I do. Not been myself lately. Seems Life gets in the way of Happiness and Fulfilment. Things I wanted to accomplish at 25 never happened and i've turned around and i'm now 41. Where did the time go. Have contemplated on giving up this music making as sometimes I feel those dreams just are not meant to be. If I stop trying though then they will never come true. A wise man told me once," You never fail til you stop trying." Very True.I'm writing this only for my benefit as I need to let this out before it takes hold. Bottled up feelings are never good. Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving and always be thankful for where we all have come.

Nightrain

I've got a few years on you :)
I've been there,I was much younger when it hit.

Remember reading a buddhist quote recently that stated you can make two mistakes in life...
Not starting and not going all the way.

What are you going to do when you quit?
You still have alot of years ahead of you to fill, don't fill them with bitterness and regret like I did for awhile.
It will change nothing and your thoughts on what might have been will kill what still might be.

You've learned an art.
It's an art that will stay with you for life.
Don't hate it,cherish it,keep it alive against the odds.
Keep it alive just to spite the fates.
Keep it alive because it is a beautiful and mysterious friend.

It will never let you down, never quit on you or turn it's back on you and it always waits for you to deal with whatever you have to deal with.
It is the most unselfish thing in all creation.
Because it is creation.

To quote Rush:

"Now get out there and rock, roll the bones"

My best wishes for your CONTINUED musical journey.

Yep Darrell life can be disappointing.....but that's the great thing about life. If we knew we could be perfect in everything we tried to do what would be the point or where would the satisfaction be? The disappointments and hard knocks are all part of the process that give one character. I learned a long time ago that the real successes and fulfillment come from within and not from outside sources. Once I figured out I wasn't going to be a virtuoso singer and guitarist, the self pressure was gone. I then was able to concentrate on and refine the things I did best musically. That was about 20 years ago and since that time I've reached some very personal and satisfying musical achievements....and some folks even enjoy a few of them :o) I totally understand where you are at.....keep a clear head and your fingers on the fret board!
