Verse 1:
I’m a servant to the king
I watch the nobility come and go
I listen to their tales of hate and distrust
Each trying to gain favor with the king
Trying to place their daughter in the king’s bed
Putting their son in the prince’s favor
All for a piece of a kingdom
Chorus:
Life with the royals
Those who rule the land
Verse 2:
Telling lies of misdeeds in the hopes of moving up
Building alliances with those in favor
Then trying to escape when their friend is lost
Hoping their connection is too distant
When the heads roll in the square
Putting a rival in the bed of the King’s mistress
Is sure to remove their head
Verse 3:
When all was lost they had to escape
To a far and distant land
They travel incognito through the country
Securing a boat to another kingdom
Hoping their enemies loose the scent
For if they are caught then their entrails will stetch
Their head will hang from the local bridge
