you could light a flame
you could sleep in the rain
there is no one to blame
only those who play the game
you missed my chance to change
when you toyed away the day
while you were on the stage
acting out the entire play
you've had enough of me
that's plain to see
I only wish in the glowing dark
we didn't have to break apart
you look for writing in the sky (you thought it was my fault)
but ignore the words of mine (you were stunned when you were caught)
there is no answer in why (empty handed before your fall)
less so when you don't try (no answer for the screaming crowds)
you've had enough of me
that's plain to see
I only wish in the glowing dark
we didn't have to break apart
you've had enough of me
that's plain to see
I only wish in the glowing dark (I always thought it would be fun)
we didn't have to break apart (to break apart with you)
The voice reminds me initially anyway, of Sparks. Interesting structure throughout, this style of music was once considered experimental. Almost like something you might here in an off-Broadway musical theatre production during the seventies. A well recorded and thought out piece.
