I have to agree this is very difficult to pull off. I would never be so bold hehe. I hate my vocal tracks dry let alone without any music!
Sarah if you are going to attempt this, as a singer myself I would suggest a few things. The first would be to sing to any kind of music track and pull the music out later. Then double or triple your vocals to add depth. Lastly would be to add some harmonies to help carry the tunes.

Hi don't think I've heard any of your work before, with this piece you have tried one of the hardest things to do in music. A vocal accompaniment to a basic click track. I liked your voice, the lyric was interesting, but above all I admire your courage, cause I think you've pulled this off quite well
