Description:
Casper was rescued on January 13, 2013 the day after I uploaded this video. He is with PNW Bully Haven rescue and is in great hands with Angel and Samantha. They have been rehabilitating him and he has made great progress. They made a group called Casper's Family on Facebook and you can join the group to see how much progress he has made. https://www.facebook.com/groups/414464041969898/
I don't get on YouTube on a regular basis so if you have any questions you can add me on my fb Facebook: http://facebook.com/SLAVolunteers
CASPER [A1366861] is an unaltered male, white Staffordshire Bull Terrier. He is about 1 year old. Weighs approximately 84 pounds. He has been at the shelter since Jan 08, 2013. "Stray"
This handsome dog was brought to my attention by ACT Tomika. She told me that the person that brought him in said he ran into their yard on New Year. He was so scared that it was hard to bring him out of the crate he was brought in. ACT Tomika said he didn't even move an inch and he would cower when someone would touch him. The medical staff was able to do a physical and he just stayed still. They were worried that Casper was sick because he just wouldn't move so they have him in the Isolation Room. When I went in to see him I instantly fell in love! Seeing how much sadness was in his eyes just broke my heart! He has scars on his muzzle, head, and front legs. He lets people touch him. You would think he was older but he is only 1 year old!! Just a baby and you can see he has suffered so much. He was probably abused and they tried to make him a fighting dog. Today was the first time Casper was surrounded by loving people. The ACT that helped me said this is a dog that has lost all confidence. I will be working with Casper and will have other volunteers/staff socialize with him. Casper will be available tomorrow(1/12). Since Casper will need a lot of interaction and I need to earn his trust I don't know how his personality will be but a dog like Casper won't have much time! I am hoping to get him out as soon as possible! Please help save sweet Casper! For any questions or concerns contact the South Los Angeles Shelter at (213)485-0117/0119.
