[verse 1] Understand what's going on/ I never dreamt it'd be like this/ everything i ever wanted in my life/ turns out that's childish/ I sit back and wonder why/ I don't dream like i used to/ and if i did it would be my worst mistake/ cuz i don't wanna be a failure to you
[chorus] (WHOA) Told myself it would all work out (WHOA) Not without a shadow of a doubt [2x]
[verse 2] Understand what's going on/ I never dreamt it'd be like this/ everything i ever wanted in my life/ turns out that's childish/ I sit back and wonder why/ I don't dream like i used to/ and if i did it would be my worst mistake/ cuz i don't wanna be a failure to you
[chorus]
[verse 3] Why can't you understand that this is what i'm doing with my life [2x]

This song was originally a song by a very short-lived emo/punk band from Blairstown, New Jersey called Karate Thompson. It was brought to the attention of Henry (guitar/engineer/songwriter) by Jon (former lead vocals) and the band rearranged it and made it their own, and turned it into one of their favorites to date.

Hello guys just read your bio, this made me grin. As a collaborative effort this is excellent. Real energy and passion went into this and you made yourselves a very classy first track. Keep it up

yeah this has some cool elements especially from the energy perspective. backing vox help sell this tune well.

Survay Says! was originally formed in early 2008 when a big group of friends, with a shared love of ska/punk, happened upon some instruments, recording equipment, and some ideas for songs.

Henry Menzel owns the recording equipment and is an audio engineer, so they record at his house. Except for Ryan's drums. They start at his house and the band helps shlep the recording gear over to the Fenton's house.

Songs are written collabratively. Henry works out main guitar tune and lyrics and the others create their own parts to go along with the song... pretty straight forward there...

Survay Says! doesn't plan to turn the world on its ear, but maybe a few people.
