I heard "The Iceland" on a MIXstation. It immediately caught my attention for both the production quality and the performance. Excellent work of art on both accounts. You have an excellent voice and this song captures (to me) the 80's style pop-rock genre perfectly (which I'm a big fan of.)
Certainly a work to be proud of. Sincerely, Matthew

I really like this song, sounds a lot like early Christopher Cross, arrangement and production are excellent, the only thing that toward the last half I thought it to wordy and the lyrics forced like you are trying to say too much. Don't get me wrong the song and vocals are really solid but for me the lyrics should be less rushed more obtuse and more vague to bring the listener in.

Beautifuly constructed and executed! You make it tough to review, when there is nothing to improve on, so I'll just say beautiful man, just beautiful.

This is a very cool departure, from what (I) have heard before. Silky smooth melodic minor keyed flow...........going in all the right directions......! Once again, I'm not sure how you can improve on this ??
Then again if I knew ,I'd be doin' it.! Which I can't >>>> !!
Peace...........Larry T.

the intro is pretty.. poppy.. a bit like phil collins.. I told you shane I think this is THE band for you.. you and mike sound wonderful together and he seems to be able to keep it commercial as the song dictates.. very tasty guitar playing here with a great tone.. souns a bit careful maybe but it is a pop song so maybe unfamiliar ground.. for me edge of the world is a much stronger song.. this is nice.. your voice as always is just lovely and sweet.. it can't be beat.. as you can see from the reviews.. this is what people want to hear.. so my opinion is just that..
and you got nothing to fear.. the lyrics?.. good.. guess i wasn't as touched though as the rest were.. a bit commercial for me.. you know though I think.. you've got my vote shane.. even if i don't love every song.. isn't it great that we don't have to please everyone? lol.. another fine song my friend.. keep grindin.. keep findin.. cheers..

This is one of the best songs I have heard in a while. I kind of got lost in the moment, like I was in a dream. Nice lyrics/message. Great arrangemtn. Very good mix. I was stationed or two years in the country of Iceland, so I wasn't sure what this song was about, but you roped me in with the title!
11/27/07 09:29:33PM @the-ratman:
Damn, what a nice song, wish I would of done it. Shane you are so amazingn and your lyrics make me want to cry tears of joy. Never stop my man like me who gave up. You can still do it with your vocal talent. I Believe In You! The RatMan!

Have I told you guys how much I like your tunes? Very clean mix with solid production and arrangement. It is a great a listen but as OPT4red stated, I did not get a solid hook from it either. That is obviously not a requirement for a good song but it definitely helps draw the listener in.
Beautiful song and fantastic vocals.
11/27/07 05:45:24PM @opt4red:
Nice big production with a rich and lush mix. A tasteful arrangement, well performed and though I didn't really get a sense of any real memorable hook with this one as such it was a very nice listen all the same.
