"The Jangle Band" was created in the early Spring of 2008 by six musicians from all walks of life. From around the world, their love of rock and roll music and especially the sound and music of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers brought them together. From Germany to Canada to the United States, a new band and "brand" of music was created.

They all met on the Official Tom Petty Forum in a thread created for musicians by Jostein Beck, better known as Jay-J. Over the course of two or three years the six who ultimately formed The Jangle Band, began sharing their music with each other. As time went by friendships were struck and the beginnings of musical collaborations took root.

Several of the members, Jon "Da-Mon" Stefon, Mario Siegesmund and Jay J. were, and still are, gigging in the real world. JC Mosquito, better known as "Skeeter", Neal "The Deal" Pace and Chapstick Jones were diligently honing their skills in home studios. In February 2007 Skeeter joined in a world challenge called the RPM Challenge. A challenge to create an entire and completed album during the month of February. Skeeter wrote, produced and recorded an entire 10 song album of original tunes in the span of 18 days. In 2008 both Neal and Chapstick joined the RPM Challenge, in turn releasing two 10 song albums of some pretty good music in 30 days.

While Neal and Chapstick were still high on all the studio work and releasing albums, Jay J. made the suggestion they should all get together and create an album of their own songs. One thing lead to another and rather than create individual music, they banded together and created what is now known as "The Jangle Band".

The Jangle Band wrote, produced and recorded their first album, Front Doors in 2008.
