Oh man ... this was a true treat, Don! The guitar work in here is just extraordinary. A very well crafted, superbly performed instrumental rock tune. I really enjoyed the listen!
Cheers
Heinz.

Yo Don-- i was real happy to discover another track on your page.
I get a kick out of this track. - I like the way you've used the pulsing effect. - and then i like the guitar jamming in general here.- I guess im a bit biased because with any of your stuff , i already start from a position of expecting to like it.
I like your style. !!!!!!

Sorry it's taken me so long to get here, but I made it in the end!! This is the first song of yours I've heard, but I'm going to have to hear some more now! Great restraint, melody and overall construction of the song (and I like the synth ) All sorts of comparisons come to mind - King Crimson, something I can't quite put my finger on, and rather bizarrely Def Leppard!! Having said that, I think the result is something totally original - great work!!

Excellent! Real solid drive and powerful production and performance. Yea, great arrangement and your guitar work is outstanding. Rob
Okay this starts with a nice simple synth repeat line acting as a rythm bed for the guitar motif (after that screaming chordal work) which works well enough.....can't help feeling though that the guitar is actually strong enough to stand without that synth...its kinda detracting from a beautifully played guitar part.Sorry for that but I am being honest I'd like to hear that whole intro with the synth taken out.Once the dynamic twist comes in to place that guitar goes into semi overdrive :its huge in scale with a really sweet distortion effect.
Then we cycle back to the start with the synth agian (its actually irritating now LOL)
Production wise this has some quality touches - few points though I'd like those drums to be more forward in the mix they move nicely but seem way back in the mix.The giutars are all played brilliantly as I expected from you especially that solo at the 5 min mark.....cool but totally dominating the mix !!!!!! which is a shame as I like everything else that happenin too.
The twist after that solo is unexpected and the ramp back up to full flow is sweet but agian I'd like to hear more of everything rather than just the wall of guitar......you gonna out bass on this ?
A showcase track for the guitar playing prowess with some fantastic riffs and a great rythmic underbed....done slightly differently this with the addition of the right vocal could be quite some hookfilled rock anthem.
Sorry too take up your time making you read all this rather than just say "great song" but I am actually gonna try to be subjective and write reviews that try to say more than that ::::::::: kick my butt if you want too ,
Sly

yeah this is a cut above the rest of your songs Don. Love the Hendrix intro! Great use of synth and love your playing!

Absolutely love the guitar tones. Don, you NAILED it IMHO. Just love your choices. And I do like the addition of the repeated synth line...a different timbre not found enough in guitar based tunes. I do feel that the synth might be just a little off timewise (late) with the drum line and once brought in sync it would sound perfect. Really nice piece!! Love your playing Don and this concept works great for me. ~Blake
P.S. IME? Hmmm...sounds like a song we just did recently called I'm Me!!

I've always been keyed into music... As a kid I used to play a game where I'd name the song before the singer came in. I started playing guitar back in the late 70's... not sure of the year,, but I remember Foreigner's Hot Blooded and 38 Special's Rockin' Into The Night were current songs on the radio. Led Zeppelin had a magic for me. There was no formula, just a bunch of different ideas that made me want to play the guitar. The 80's hit and I couldn't see myself doing anything other than play guitar for a living. Had a band, played with other musicians just for our entertainment, etc. Used to record on one of those old cassette tape 4-track recorders. A friend of mine and I used to spend all of our time doing something musical (we jammed, wrote new songs, recorded covers of songs we did/didn't like with some lyrics that the original artist would probably sue us for) I never really did much of anything, but the 80's guitar-based music scene left me in the dust... Threw in the towel and stopped playing for 10+ years. Then I bought a Jackson RR guitar (that I'd wanted for 20+ years) and I haven't stopped playing since. At this point I don't know if I have a style. I hope my playing does, but not my compositions. Oh well, listen and enjoy. I am working on a CD project. When that becomes available I will let you know and possibly post clips here.
