I’ll try to keep the Bio brief-

I’m from the south, and I love the Blues----I have played them most of my life--(4 bands, 3 CDs,in various venues)---Learned about them from some legends in the field, starting with B.B.King, after mixing a show for him in 1977--- B.B., J.J. Cale, AL Slim, and Skunk Baxter all told me the same thing---MAKE AN ORIGINAL SOUND THAT IS YOU----That became my Mantra for the last 30 years---- After backing Jerry McCain in the mid to late 90’s, it was time to start the MOJO TONES recording project----until 2005, when I got as opportunity to help Ardie Dean,(a producer and musician for Musicmaker Relief Foundation) re-write some of Guitar Gabriel’s songs and do backup vocals for Albert White’s “Soul of the Blues” CD-(They let me name it!) Albert was chosen best new artist 2007 by LIVING BLUES…Ardie and the studio owner/engineer taught me valuable production skills on Albert’s project, which carried over to the next 9 Musicmaker.org projects we worked on together as a team. When the recession hit in 2009, Musicmaker had to cut back on projects, which gave me a chance to access the studio, and employ some of the best contributing players we used on many of the Musicmaker tracks—(who also happen to be lifelong friends)-using the main lesson that Albert and Ardie taught me-- BLUES REQUIRES FERVOR AND FEEL.

These days, most of my live performing has been limited to when Alabama Slim and Little Freddie King are up from New Orleans, as I have decided to substitute the QUALITY of gigs for way too much QUANTITY…But if the right venue or opportunity comes along, then…Who knows?

Influences include: Sam and Dave, Jeff Beck, Mark Knopfler, Beatles, Tony Joe White, AL. Slim, Stevie Ray & Double Trouble, Jimi Hendrix, Soul artists of the 60’s and 70’s, and ALL of the Blues greats of the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s,and 70’s
