Poughkeepsie native LaJune Grant has spent the past ten years pursuing her passion of music. With ambitions of becoming a rapper, singer and songwriter, LaJune learned early on that she would need to relocate to the center of the music industry in order to fully pursue her dreams. She moved to Brooklyn and finished her college degree and honed her skills as a rapper. Her first opportunity to test her talent came from BET’s “106 & Park.” After seven weeks of victorious rap battles, LaJune was the first female to be inducted into BET’s “106 & Park” Freestyle Friday Competition. Since that first big break, LaJune has opened up for R&B sensations Case and Joe at the Lehman Center Concert Hall and Grammy award-winning Crissette Michelle for a hurricane Sandy fundraising event “Give Back and Get Down.” She has also had the opportunity to perform all over New York City at various venues including the world famous Apollo Theater. LaJune’s musical performances can be seen on VH1’s Emmy award-winning morning show “Big Morning Buzz Live” and the video for her single “Fibrillate” was selected for MTVU’s freshman competition and played on the channel in December of 2013. LaJune’s vocal talent is also featured in a pilot for a new show that is being created for VH1. Her EP “Body” is an eclectic mix of genres available now on iTunes, Amazon and other outlets online!
