<p><span class="epktxt">Air of Scorpio can trace its origins back to February 2010 in a small house, on a quiet street, in the city of Hammond, Indiana. It was here that founding member and guitarist Chris Evans got in touch with an old high school friend and fellow musician, drummer Erik Kisielewicz. What the two thought would be a relaxed jam session, a way to simply pass the time, turned in to the music that became the foundation for A.O.S. After a few practices together the two decided to recruit each of their closest friends and former band mates, guitarist Mike James and bassist Tyler Beswick. The energetic and complex rhythms of Tyler&rsquo;s bass and the catchy guitar work of Mike James fused perfectly with the already powerful backbone Chris and Erik had laid down. The chemistry was instant. Five songs, two singers and three band names later the group had collectively hit a rut. They needed direction both musically and spiritually. Enter Ed Larson. The experienced singer/songwriter had been playing in various bands throughout the Chicago land region for years, and was familiar with Chris and Mike from previous projects they had been involved in. After the departure of their most recent singer, Chris decided to put out ads for a new vocalist. Ed responded and agreed to stop by to listen in on a practice. The critical yet positive feedback Ed provided was just what the band needed. They began writing new material immediately, utilizing Ed&rsquo;s fresh input to transform their sound. Several songs arose from these early sessions, including the dark and brooding &ldquo;Enemy&rdquo; and the melodic &ldquo;Waiting&rdquo;. All in all, the harmonic guitars and explosive rhythm section, mixed with a dynamic vocal style, created a unique and progressive pop rock sound. Air of Scorpio was born! With the upcoming release of their self-titled E.P. at their debut show Nov 6th, A.O.S. shows no signs of slowing down. The future is bright for the hard-working quintet, and as their music continues to mature the possibilities will be endless.
