I make songs in a spare bedroom in an apartment in a town called Bountiful. I've been recording for 25 years, starting with a StudioMaster 4-track cassette. There's nothing like when something comes out "right" at the end of a session. I record with an old iBook/MOTU 828 interface with Deck multitrack software. I can get about 8 stereo tracks with this setup. I prefer to play my instruments straight through the track; I don't use punch-ins. I like the "live" feel of doing that. I prefer "real" instruments like electric and acoustic guitars, bass, keyboards, and drums. But I love to experiment as well. My more experimental and electronic recordings have been done under the name Blind Mime Ensemble. You can see my studio by viewing the pics in my photo gallery here. It's pretty simple.

I'm not a shredder on guitar or keyboards by any means. I came to music through writing songs and that's still where I get my biggest kicks. I love to collaborate with real players who can give our songs something more. Before Internet, I would often drag my recording gear to people's houses or practice studios and make songs, or send tracks through the mail. Now, collaborating is great 'cos it's so much quicker. So let me know if you want to do something.
