Another new song

By Sam Houston, 2010-11-29

I just uploaded a song called "Last Dance Saloon". We used to play a lot at a huge club in Missouri about 26 miles from Branson. The owner wanted me to write a theme song for the place to use in radio and TV promos and stuff. So, this is what I came up with. Check it out if you get a chance.

poetry

By jvtuttle, 2010-11-27

freedom of speech is not a right ...it is a privledge ......a privledge to contribute your thoughts to society .........to say what only you have....... as a talent .........to contribute to your greater self in the eyes of men

what only your social setting is capable of saying freedom of speech is not the right to say whatever you want to say .......as you well know by the concequences of your power.....

I think there is a firewall (something that blocks) up about the poetic quality of prose in america

if we let literature speak in song and beauty we will loose understanding, we will stray from the meaning....but the structure strays from the meaning...whereas the song in poetry fills big gaps taking giant steps toward understanding what is being said...it brings a sense of humor a sense of what's happening with the reader

who is to write? The one that uses this privaledge of free speech to fill us in about his enviroment. the one that wins people in everyday conversation..the one that is chosen by his surroundings to speak what he has collected....by his greater self in the eyes of others.

I say......today my illness i will conquer by remaining social......I say not what the self is but what the self is incompassed by...the aura of effort.....thanks again for reading my blog and would sure like for you to add any thing i have made you to say....ha ha.......thanks .....Joel
