new track abstract interuption

i need to verify a few things on here ...im not a musician in the real sense as i see it ...ie to pick up an instrument and imediately interact with it musically ...im a producer :D i do have a bit of musical talent but no where near the amazing people ive met and heard on here :) ..ok thats out of the way lol ...also im influenced by a diverse array of people from different backgrounds of music and so it sort of rubs off in my tracks ...also i dont stick to what is regarded as the norm in any aspect of music ..so it is wth this tune im afraid ...not everyone will like it ..hell id be amazed if any one listens to this lol ..its nearly 10 mins long ..it has a sort of story to it ,,i based it on the film the shining ..theres footsteps used as a gateway to the different musical "rooms" ..it has a hell of a lot of sounds in it ..something i like to have in a tune ..its probably why i turned to synths and samplers and not the guitar ...also as this site is from what i can gather and have observed a mainly acoustic/electric rocky sort of place ..im pretty chuffed to be a part of it and be accepted into it the way i am of which im truly honoured and grateful :) i also must appologise as well for some of the tracks i put up here ..some are well just off the chain a bit ..ive got one tune which i recorded at 909 bpm last 1min 15 seconds lol ..also on which i titled melt your brain and consists of nothing but noise lol ..christ dont i waffle alot for that im also very sorry lol ..anyways ive uploaded this track ..have a listen see what you think ..who knows perhaps maybe it could influence you to branch out a bit ,,you never know :) ...enjoy

sie(elektronz/flugelhamster/elek/me)

:)

What I am up to...

What I am up to...

I have been working on music non stop and getting songs ready for mixing. In the process of doing so I did something different this time around with the sounds. I also have been taking my time with the music. Things are moving along great and the music is sounding excellent. I am very happy to be working with Jim on the project and I thank him for allowing me to do things with his music. Scott Moricle is also working with us. He has vocal work to do along with other projects in the works. I thank Scott for allowing me to steal some of his synths too, lol.

I am still working on driving Jim sane

I have not been on here to review as much as I would like to. So in the near future I will be reviewing more. I do apologize for that. I have heard great music on the site coming into chat and listening to the shows.

As of right now I am off to finish up some music and get the eq right and some arrangement placements

Have a good weekend everyone!

Kerrin

Mike Kohlgraf - Mix Artist of the Month

It was determined that Mike Kohlgraf would be our July Mix Artist of the Month! Mike has been on Mixposure for some time and was our first DJ here when he brought his show "Saturday Night Rocks" over to to this site. Mike has been a staple in not only Mixposure but a few other sites back in the day and has been a huge supporter of artist all over the internet. He is also a pretty solid musician in his own right!

Mike thanks for being here over the last 4 years! You have truly made this site shine.

Todd

Biography

Originally from Germany, residing in the USA since 1986, I used to be in bands for years. After a long break, I took up writieng music again. and consider myself a studio musician, writing, recording and producing my own material.

I work with other artists on collaborations, namely Christopher Marting Hansen, Jim Miller and many others, such as Rick Kresiak and his wife, Mack & Dave Sanders.. One great collaboration with Maria Daines as well and hopefully, we can do it again some day. I' play guitars and keyboards.

My creations are all over the genres (Jazz, Blues, Pop, Rock, New Age, Electronica, etc), so I settled for Crossover as the main Genre. A bit of a World musician, you might say. Most of my material is on the smooth side. Hope, you enjoy some of it and do not be afraid to leave a comment. We artists are suckers for those, good or bad, doesn't matter (we like the good ones best, though). Thanks for visiting my new home here at Mixposure!

Anticipation Frustration

Anticipation Frustration

The first few lines of this song do say it all…”can’t speak, can’t sleep, can’t eat….” Well I’m sure we all go through this at some point, but I have never experienced such energy on such an immense and prolonged scale. This song speaks of dealing with that energy, and a knowing that something is lurking on the horizon?

On a musical note, I’d like the listener to look out for the tasty beats that were created using “Propellorheads — Reason” program (just love it) and also some new guitar sounds were conjured up with the help of “Guitar Rig”.

Mainstream indie-dance-pop seventies-rock with a post-punk twist: hooyoosay's new single "My obsession" cannot easily be labeled with a simple one-word tag.

Their rendition of the song brings a fresh and innovative, catchy and intriguing approach to a rather obscure 1967 Rolling Stones track.

Contrary to the coarse and roaring Rolling Stones signature original, hooyoosay's whispery and sensual lead vocal interprets the song lyrics in such a way that a slightly humorous but definitely light-hearted undertone is added.

The overall sound is reminiscent of late seventies rock, a good dose of Ian Dury-like characteristics being injected.

At the same time the hypnotic drum beats give the track enough of a contemporary dance-feel to possibly also appeal to listeners of Rihanna, Katy Perry, Maroon 5 and the likes.

Still the whole package breathes a gentle softness, clearing it from the fatiguing impact that some stellar productions occasionally might impose.

For the so-called b-side, hooyoosay chose to record Allen Toussaint's "Pain in my heart" in a modest arrangement, as an intimate, melancholic, acoustic jazzy blues ballad.

If you'd have missed to notice their full album "In dekay" before, this new single, combining the verve of "My obsession" and the gloominess of "Pain in my heart", makes for a compelling introduction to hooyoosay.

About the tunes

By elmojk, 2012-07-01

Hello everyone!

I just thought I'd say a few words about the songs that I have here.

All of the songs I have here can be found on my website, elmojk.com, along with some other ones. Three of the songs feature on an album called Unintelligent Leftovers, which is just a collection of songs that didn't make my first solo album Unintelligent Designs. The song Chromatic Tuna is off that first album.

I hope you enjoy the songs. If anyone has any comments or questions, feel free to write.

-Elmo

Mike Aurigemma

By Admin, 2012-06-30

I know many of you know Frank from Stratage Guitars and many of you also know his son Mike who is a member here. Mike has helped a lot of people on Mixposure with not only his excellent drum skills but also his incredible mixing and mastering knowledge. Mike is also an exec at Sam Ash Music and has helped me with questions I have had on a few purchases.

When I saw Mike's Facebook post about what happened to his house with Hurricane Debbie, I was terribly saddened. What a terrible thing to go through. The storm drains were apparently not cleaned properly so the water had nowhere to go. It ended up in his and his neighbors house. To add insult to injury, it appears that Mike recently refinanced his house and it looks like the insurance was not picked up by the new mortgage company with his escrow account. Talk about a mess.

Please drop by Mike's page on here or Facebook and let him know we are thinking about him.

Todd

T-Shirt Giveaway & July

By Admin, 2012-06-28

Well it looks like nobody is going to hit the mark for the most reviews this month so maybe we should carry it over next month?

Also, I would like to do a site song for July but something easy where everyone can particpate. I thought about doing a Same Song Title Madness and calling it, "Corporate America Sucks" after my company let 150+ people go but since I was only out of work a few weeks I am not as bitter as I was before.

So if you guys have ideas, please post them here. I want this to be easy! Same Song Titles are easy or Acoustic / Electric songs. The less complicated the better.

Todd
