Updates!

By Admin, 2008-07-04

First I wanted to welcome all of the new members to Mixposure.com! If you have not already done so, please stop by the Introduction Forum and tell us a bit about yourself!

Thanks to Venuestudio for helping the artists out here and mixing all the songs you have done! Kent is a mod here and co-moderates the Recording Studio forums with Beerhunter. If you need a song remixed, post a message in the Help Mix My Song Forum. We have an upload server setup so you can send him the full wav files and not smaller mp3 files. Kent is not charging for this and will do it as time permits. He has done numerous songs for the members here and for that we all thank you!!

Our apologies for the Same Song Title Madness version 10!! With everything that went on recently, we dropped the ball. The winning title was I KNOW TROUBLE. We will still use that song title and let's set a new due date of August 2nd. If you have not participated in one of these before the concept is simple. Everyone creates a song using that song title. It can be any genre you like. Vocals are not mandatory but help sell the song better! This is a great opportunity to collab with some of the members here!!

As we announced before, we are running a Contest for July! As many people know, what makes this site unique is the members and song reviews! Many sites are just a storage bin for your music. Let's face it, we want to know what people think of our music. So for the top reviewer for July, we have decided that the person with the most reviews will have their account upgraded to a Premium Account. The Premium Accounts are not much different than the Basic Account other than they allow more songs and videos. We did not want people to have to pay to have all the features offered here. We would have liked to make this a 100% free site but that was just not possible.

If you are knew to reviewing and are just not sure what to say, these may help! Remember, the best thank you that you can give for receiving a song review is to give one back in return!!

Strength of hook/title:
Originality:
Appeal:
Focus:
Phrasing/cadence:
Arrangement:
Musicianship:
Strength of Melody/prosody:
Vocal delivery:
Backing vox:
Collaboration effort:
Recording mix/technical:

Also, we made a slight change on the site some of you may have noticed already. Fans must be approved now and will not be auto-approved. You will be notified via private message that you have pending fans.

As a reminder, I hope everyone is getting involved with 2GuysTalking and their hunt for the best songs of 2008! Click the banner for more information!

The Mix Crew!

Happy 4th of July

By Admin, 2008-07-03

Happy 4th of July! Be safe out there tonight everyone!

I wanted to take a moment and welcome all of the new members that have signed up recently. Welcome aboard! Please stop by the Introduction Forum and tell us a little bit about yourself.

I have had a lot of emails and private messages of support for resurrecting the Mixposure.com domain name. It was a pricey investment but I hated to see it sitting there with stupid ads on it. We may not be the Mixposure of old but I hope with your help we can build something even better.

I have been a member on many different music sites and have never found one with the caliber of musicians on this site other than MySpace and Soundclick. But let's face it, we are all on those sites! So I thank everyone for being here!

Oh, we kind of spaced the Same Song Title Madness with everything that was going on. Stay tuned and we will set a new date.

Thanks,
Dazed
My Country ...from Fable for Independance Day

The evening of 9, 11 I wrote Flight 93. I had the entire company there to listen and record it. It was getting very late and we were all still watching the TV as the evening wore on between tracks. Living in New England at the time made it all the more intense as everyone there knew someone lost in the disaster. I had friends there and was trying to get in touch all day to no avail. We finished flight 93 around 10PM and started to play and sing my country almost like a prayer. We were all the emotional wreckage of the day and the music kept us from losing it altogether. The voices you hear are myself, my son John (the younger), Sean Galooli, and Sara Tallarico.
One of the company knew a very popular disk jockey in that market, Steve Valentine, and called him to let him know what was going on at the studio. He showed up around 11:30 and we recorded this tune just as you hear it now. I mixed it and Flight 93 back to back, gave a copy to Steve around 12:30 and it was on the air in that market at 1AM 9, 12 where it remained in rotation for 2 weeks.
It helped to heal us all and I hope sincerely it has the same effect for you on this Independence Day.
Regards to all in this house. Have a safe and happy holiday
John

To all entertainers that feel like gypsy. Gypsy box productions is a music video, human interest website soon to be released to the world. Our aim is to bring awareness to striving entertainers and to the disabled. By means of streaming videos. We have plenty of original songs to be sung and plenty of video ideas. We may also use your original ideas as well. What we need: Singers with the unique voice and character to build with. An open personality, whether it be music, comedy, acting, or creative technical support will help us to help you and others with promotion. Our first project is to bring awareness to disabilities through song and discussion and video. Special one is a song that was written through the experience of an individual who suffered a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). That individual is one of many who find themselves asking why me? And now what do I do? I think that people of all disabilities deserve a chance to contribute to society, and to be proud of their achievements. We have many other projects. We will also have a broadcast with many different topics, for instance, First topic, teen talk= everyday teens with opinions not politically drawn. Just a point of view. Second topic life look= a look of someones life. In some cases, this might be quite interesting. Third topic special.. a look at a disabled person and what creative way can lead them to comfort, and is self achievement reabilitation? Also,The understanding of Ti Amo day, what it really means, The reunification of love. There are many more. We do need help, we would rather run as a herd. Please give us your idea for topic of show, and how you can help. We need sponsorship, talent, ideas, technical support, and more important then any of this, we need you to be a gypsy with us. Please join us and be given a gypsy name. Remember a herd covers more ground then one. Lets run together!! To join is free!! We want your membership now. We are also looking to fill the gypsy names of FIRE GYPSY and MOON GYPSY, please comment and tell us if you would like to be the FIRE GYPSY or the MOON GYPSY and tell us why. Fire does not just burn. And the moon does not just glow. Let us know. The only way help can lead to change is through the conversation of a topic. A topic can only be in place if it is brought forth. News is awareness and awareness is news. And that gives way to change. The song special one can be viewed on this page or for more information and to view this video, go to www.gypsyboxproductions.com. email adress: gypsyboxproductions@yahoo.com Current Members include: GYPSY HOPE, CANVAS GYPSY, GYPSY SHADE, SHADOW GYPSY, SPECIAL ONE GYPSY, SNOW GYPSY, DOC GYPSY, TIE GYPSY, CRYSTAL GYPSY, GYPSY KARMA, GYPSY NICK, NICKLE GYPSY, MUSIC GYPSY, GYPSY TURQUOISE, PAPA GYPSY, GYPSY PUZZLE, GYPSY ROME, AND MANY MORE........... New sample music - The Dawning

Metal lovers here is more music coming to you from me
At this time i will give you the sample till it is to my standards .
Please check it out and let me know what you think
If you love music of any kind you will like the work that has gone in to this music.
Make sure to check out the lyrics of this dark battle song.
Thanks for your friendship
Steph
http://www.mixposure.com/steph_klish/

Fresh on the heels of “Rules of the
Road” being added to… er, some kind of playlist on the Clear Channel network,
“Blue Sky Lightning” has made the grade, as well! This one is especially
gratifying, because “Blue Sky Lightning” is the one that means the most to me.
Seriously, if I were to fall off a subway platform tomorrow, “Blue Sky” is the
song I’d want to be remembered by. Not that I think that’ll happen, I’m just
sayin’…
