After faking Stones tunes in standard tuning for most of my life I've finally spent a few weeks woodshedding in Open G tuning. Taking off the 6th string so the root is on the bottom for these simple fingerings is a key component of the Keith Richards sound. A capo on the 4th fret is pretty typical too. Tumbling Dice has to be one of the most fun guitar tunes to play off all time (at least for me) once you get the hang of it. But once you take Keith's advice that "all you need is five strings, three fingers and one arsehole" dozens of Stones riffs practically fall out of the guitar. A song I've posted, "Black-n-Blue" uses a very basic Open g riff.

Anyway tonight should be a pretty good one, no only do we have the Gunslinger Album - Earthquak in E-minor - to play out for you, but we have an exclusive interview with nigel potter and a never before heard acoustic track

Hey Everyone! Just a few quick updates.

We have recently added some new moderators to iMusicScene. Some of you may have read that Jim aka Artificial Earth and Saturated have been added but we also just added Venuestudio aka Kent and Beerhunter aka Lonnie. Beerhunter and Venuestudio are going to help out in the Recording Studio Forums. Kent has posted some great tips in the Recording Studio that I will be adding to our Mixing Help area very soon. Beerhunter's Blog is also loaded with great information as well.

Kent has offered to start mixing songs for some members. I do not think he can take on every project thrown his way but if you have something that you would like to have him mix, post it in the Help Mix My Song Forum. I know I will be asking him to do some mixing. Remember we also have the upload FTP server for you to upload your wav files to. Information on that is in the Help Mix My Song Forum.

Please do not forget about the iMS Songwriting Challenge. We have four songs submitted already. I know I have this on my to do list! When you upload the song, make sure you use the genre of iMS Songwriting Challenge. The due date is May 10th and yes you can be late. The lyrics are in the link and the song name is Prison of Love.

Thanks for supporting iMusicScene!

Dazed
Greetings, Just wanted to introduce my label to everyone officially now that its all revamped and open for sonic consumption! Over the last 5 years I have been springboarding all of my personal music projects off of the Trinity Records label moniker. Feel free to visit the website at trinityrecords.net and poke around, pull up a chair and get comfy! I hope you dig the ride! Regards, Rob
I was born in 1970 but it wasn't until 2006, when I met my best friend and the love of my life, Tsargoth, that I truly came to life.
Musically, I'm a rooty-poot guitar player at best, but I enjoy writing lyrics and poetry (and pretty much anything creative/crafty).
For the safety and well-being of everyone on here, this is NOT me singing or playing.
The only thing I had to do with these songs is the writing of the lyrics.
The instrumentation and vocals were all done by studio musicians.
Rick is an incredible person and an outstanding musician!!!! It's an honor to have him contribute his talents to this piece.
