Well, Ive uploaded a new song Meedee Man, Man. I've been experimenting and learning to make music with my MIDI and Synths. Its been a long slow learning process to do the little I have done. This song is the first time I have tried to combine vocals with the computer music. It's a good hearted tease of my very talented friend Jeff B/Road Apples who did a series of brilliant songs based on old horror movies. Its all meant to be tongue in cheek fun!
Good to see my great friend Mike K is going to be doing his show here. He is a great friend to Indie Artists plus a wonderful musician and a good guy. If you have not heard his show, I strongly recommend it!
<p>I just wanted to send a few updates to everyone. First of all I need to apologize for some of the bugs on the site. There was a recent code change that I wanted to get implemented with some new features and some performance tweaks. When I implemented these, it caused some bugs in other areas. These should be resolved in the next couple of days. <br /> <br />On Saturday May 10th we will have an interview with <a href="/mark_cloutier/">Mark Cloutier</a>. Mark has a new CD out and we will be playing many of the songs as well as getting to know him a little better. We will be in the <a href="/chat/">iMS Chat Room</a> from 9PM Eastern Standard Time until whenever everyone leaves!<br /><br /> After the Interview, we will play the songs from the iMS Songwriting Challenge! <a href="http://www.imusicscene.com/Carol_Douglas">Carol Douglas</a> wrote some great lyrics for Prisoner of Love so we will be playing all of the songs that have been submitted so far!</p>
<p><a href="/mike_kohlgraf/"><img src="/images/email_images/mike.gif" border="0" alt="Saturday Night Rocks" align="middle" /></a><br /><br /> iMS Radio is now a reality! We are pleased to announce that <a href="/mike_kohlgraf/">Mike-K</a> will be broadcasting beginning May 17th from 8PM to Midnight Eastern Standard Time so please join us in the <a href="/chat/">iMS Chat Room</a> for the Saturday Night Rocks show with your host Mike K! <br /><br /> Mike will be featuring many of the artist from iMS as well as some other Indie artists you may not have heard of before. I am sure Mike will be looking for some Artist Promo's so if you have time, please take a moment and do one. Have fun, be creative. <br /><br />We also wanted to mention that we have created a new <a href="/forum/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=11911">Songwriting Forum</a>. We asked if the members would be interested in this forum and we received a lot of positive feedback so it is now open for business. This is a great way to get some feedback on lyrics before you finish the song and hear all the lyric/arrangement suggestions after the fact!!</p>
<p>VenueStudio aka Kent has also put together an iMS Promotion Video for us. Have a look!</p>

Hi All
Just posted some playing to a BT which will be entered in a poll competition on another site (for guitar players). Each player uses the same BT, which is part of the challenge. Anyway, its all about fun and it will be interesting to see what people choose when forced with a decision.

This is one of the links to an Aqaintence DENNIS LOGAN , his current release is great. If you like Topical, political , protest and that kind of lyrics , this is great music.
He draws on his influences like Dylan,Tom Petty, Roger Mcguinn, John Hiatt, Traveling Wibury's ,Dire Straights, Steve Earle, basically just good straight ahead rock n roll , Folk-rock, Country -rock.
The name of the CD is S.O.S . there is not an EMO song in to be found not that there is anything wrong with EMO. THis CD is a statement to be reckoned with.
check him out .........
<p>lol.. well maybe you think i just come up with themes to dicuss? check out my rockside.. my fave solo singin so far.. but i'm just getting warmed up.. roll over beethoven..

<p>Hey Everyone. You might have noticed some changes were made to the site. The changes are about 50% done. The rest will hopefully be over the weekend. </p><p>Known Bugs - </p><ul><li>Who Is Online not displaying everyone</li><li>Newest Song Review Counts Not Correct</li><li>Artist Search Function Not Returning Artists</li><li>Artist not on PJ Theme images not displaying </li></ul><p>The next code changes will address these. I would like to say all releases run smooth but as we all know, a few bugs will always slip through. </p><p>Thanks for your support and sorry for the dust </p><p>Dazed </p><p> </p>
This is the first in an occasional series on the history, development and future of Indie music. All comments welcome...
Indie musicians have been around for as long as music itself.
The earliest forms of music were probably simple work and worship chants to a primitive drum accompaniment. By the rise of the first civilizations two types of music had evolved - sacred and secular. Sacred music was extremely formalized with elements of chorus, various flute and harp like instruments and of course drums. On the other hand secular music (folk or popular if you like) was the province of the solo or small group of players often wandering and "getting a gig" where they could.
By the Middle Ages Western sacred music had begun to evolve to formalize with a rudimentary form of written notation known as neumes. The secular musician continued to be more or less improvisatory and still sought gigs where he or she could.
Harmony began to be employed in Western Music soon after this and notation evolved into the format still used today. But it continued to play little or no part in the secular musician's life though.
A huge turning point came with first the introduction of the piano around 1700 and the Industrial Age about 100 years later. This for the first time placed reliable and standardized instruments within the reach of a vast number of people.
So by the beginning of the 20th century, music and instruments were both within the reach of huge numbers of people.
<p>Sorry I have been MIA the last few days or so. We have had some company in town so we have been entertaining. Should be back in business in a few days or so!</p><p>Dazed </p><p> </p>
