Something wierd has happened to the blogs on this site... my last couple of entries have had all the spaces taken out of them, not between words but between lines.. they are all one jumbled mess... any particular reason for this?
Gary presented this song and right from the start...I LOVED it!! At the time, we weren't sure where it would go...instrumental? vocal?......Well, all I can say is....Farrell took it and the decision was made. WOW!! I think Farrell did a SUPERB Job on th is song. Just posted GW Jam 45 Funky Blues.
This the latest one to be completed in the Collaboration section of the forum. Players are Robert Smith, George Shepherd, Larry O'Meara and Peter Mercer. Actually there was room on the BT for another player or two but this one had been started in November so closed it off. Seems that the jamming side of things has dropped off for now. If anyone wants to join in on this leave a note in the foruim and I'll re-open it.

iMS Radio

As you can hear we have added a random playlist of the artist of iMusicScene.com. During the next week we will be testing it out and making sure everything works the way it is supposed to work.

As for DJ's I think if you are interested in having a show, please send me a message with your show idea. A small mp3 sample would also be good.

I think what we would be looking to do is possibly do a few weekend shows at 2-3 hours per show. As for content, it must be original music only. No Covers. I would like to say all music has to be from iMS LOL but I think that defeats the purpose of a good radio show. The idea is to get music heard.

A few requirements for DJ's. You must have high speed internet access. A speedy computer would also be good. You must have a decent mic and souncard in order to stream. DJ's will connect directly into our server and we will stream the content.

As I said, we are in the testing stages so bare with us!

Dazed

Hi All
Just completed a final version of Inside Out - thanks to all who posted on the incomplete version. It was great to let out all the emotion after a stressful week and even better to finish a song.

Hi all you music lovers out there in IMSland. I just want to send out a BIG "Thank you"; "Grazie"; "Arigato" and any other cultural greetings for all the nice comments about my music of late. I don't get online much these days because of that little thing we all hold so precious...Time.
I would love to get on here and listen to all the phenomenal music you guys and gals share on this terrific site we have here. Maybe one day I can slow down and take in some of the fantastic pieces and start reviewing once again like in the good 'ol beginning days of Guitaristworks. Anyway, thanks again and have a most excellent day.

Hero Records announced today the release of its newest CD maxi-single entitled "Be Your Own Hero" by recording artist Astrid. This dance-oriented CD contains 11 mixes of an inspirational yet radio-friendly track. Music industry veteran Carl Maduri (producer of "Play That Funky Music" and "The Morning After" brought this project together with co-producers Sam Toney, Doug Emery and Hal Batt who has a strong history of production work with many well-known Latin artists including Julio Iglesias. Carl Maduri commented “I haven’t been so excited about a project in a long time”. I’m also proud that a portion of the proceeds from our sales will support a number of charitable organizations benefiting battered women”.
Astrid is a multi-talented, multi-lingual artist whose name means "of the stars". After graduating high school, Astrid began singing in a multitude of different bands, giving her the professional versatility that led her to become a finalist on the national TV production Star Search and then shortly thereafter to joining Jimmy Buffet as a back up vocalist for his 1988 Hot Water Tour. Since then, she has had the opportunity to tour nationally in the company of groups like Bonnie Raitt, Rita Coolidge, The Neville Brothers, Ralph McDonald, Little Feat, and Memphis Horns, Steve Cropper and several other national and internationally touring headliners. Astrid commented “I am really excited to be working with Hero Records and Tone 1 on such an important and inspirational project. I’m also so very happy to be a part of a project that will benefit organizations that have helped me personally to overcome my own challenges with being a victim of abuse”.
The details of Astrid’s future tour dates will be available soon according to her management company.

Hey Guys!

Some of you may have heard that Nexus Radio UK will no longer be using the iMS Chat Room. No there is not bad blood between the two sites! Stop thinking drama guys lol.

While the iMS Chat Room offered Nexus the ability to get away from their IRC Chatroom, it did have some limitations for them. We require a login to keep it secure, some of the ignore features caused some problems I guess (I am looking into this) and they did not have admin permissions in the chat.

We also had some complaints about the language and the tone of some of the shows. iMS has people of all ages on here and some are under 21. We never want anyone to be uncomfortable so always try and keep it professional.

We are saddened to see Nexus move but they will still be playing music from the fine artists on iMS. The problem is, we really liked the interaction in the chatroom during shows. When we first started this site, our chatroom was always active and then we just started using the forum shoutbox more. I forgot how much fun the chat was! We were asked about starting iMS Radio several months ago and I just did not feel we had the time to do it. I guess now is as good of time as any to give it a shot.

So if you have longed to do an internet radio show please give this some thought. We will be looking for some people to step up to the mic so to speak. We should have everything in place tomorrow and will be doing some testing. We have the ability to play music at 320K bitrate but I think we will just run 192k as the site allows so the streamed music will sound the same as the artist intended.

So what do you think?

Dazed

Update - I am starting to get the hang of this stuff. Right now you can think of this as an iMS Jukebox.
iMS Radio Stream
In Mankind's search for life throughout the Universe, it is unimaginable that our first contact would be with a Sasquatch creature walking on the surface of Mars. This recent discovery by the NASA Spirit Rover brings a whole new meaning to the term "Planet of the Apes". It has been speculated that squid-like creatures are swimming in Europa's Ocean or colonies of thriving blue bacterium grow the southern fountains of Enceladus, however, the discovery of an ape-like creature walking on the surface of Mars has shook up the scientific community. Where does it live?, How does it breath?, What does it eat?, How can it survive on such a dry, desolate planet?.................Recent un-released classified close-ups from the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter show a pod of these creatures performing a funky ritual dance over the smashed remains of the ill-fated 1999 Mars Polar Lander Mission.
This song was created by Mad Dog Yosemite(MikeY) and Wherewolf(TLT50) as a tribute to the ghastly beasts that have dominion over the Red Planet, future space travelers be on the alert..............MarzSquatch is waiting for you!
