Whinge whinge whinge

This bloody French thing is doing my head in!! hahaha...manging to get some sort of sense out of it is virtually impossible...(pour moi!!) Trying to write verse in French is the most difficult task I have ever embarked upon...methinks it would have been easier to go off with Ferdinand Mafellan to discover an unknown passage around the world into uncharted waters...exactly where I am now. And Ia m sinking rapidly...so if anyone out there got an inkling of rhyming in French...s'il vous plait...M'AIDEZ!!!

TAke a listen...I have the first verse only done and then became 'brain dead' .. if can come up with somethign and perhaps even sing it...cud be a nice collab idea maybe....

now where are all me Belgian friends?? Je veux Francaise de la Belgique pour ca

Alons alons, un et tout...alons et m'aidez vous!!! (See...I CAN do it, but not exactly romantic, is it!! Must be a love song...une chanson d'amour!!)

Go here to listen:

http://www.mixposure.com/dragonstale/song_focus_10409.php

Sorry...

By MoonfreakSeb, 2009-01-13

I'm sorry I have not been logged in here and listened to all the good music.

In my defence, I have injured my left arm (ulnaris nerve) which did force me to cancel all my gigs causing me serious financial difficulties, surgery and leaving me unable to play guitar.
Because guitar is, I've now found out, my main weapon and creative tool, the situation has left me slightly depressed.

To make a complicated situation worse; I've also split up with my girlfriend and moved 500 kms into my own little flat.
Everybody loves the creative type, as long as they're not broke. :)

So, to sum it up:
I'll be back when I've got the strength...

January 2009 Mixposure Challenge

By Admin, 2009-01-13

Well we were looking to do another Mixposure Site Challenge and were trying to think of what to do. Lyric Challenge? Same Song Title Madness? Rob Grant came up with a great idea and kind of a twist on some of these. What he suggested was doing a Vocal Challenge. MTW had a song that many of us liked and thought it would be fun to use his tune. He has two versions posted, one with a guitar solo and one without so if you want to add your own solo feel free. You can also add any other instruments you like if you so desire.

You can download either version of the song HERE and here is the actual song - Vocalist Challenge

Let's put a due date of this for February 14th so everyone has time to work on it! Good luck and have fun everyone! This is posted to the Forum for Discussion.

I am looking forward to hearing some of the vocalist of Mixposure and thanks MTW for allowing us to use your song!!

Dazed Update - Here are some of the Entries already submitted. What I would like to do is give everyone another week to finish so let's jump on it everyone!

Play Songs

I saw this on a site I frequent and thought I would post this. It will not last long since it is a closeout at $349 - $35 (use promo code MF23) at Musicians Friend. Just click the picture to see the info. Harmony Central had some decent reviews on it. Great for Blues and Rock but probably not metal. Music123 has it for $699.

Palomino V50 Guitar Combo Amp Cream*

The Palomino V50 is a 50W, Class AB tube combo amp featuring 2 channels with independent controls, 2 - 12" speakers, and a footswitchable internal spring reverb. The Palomino V50 delivers vintage tube tone by the ton. The V50 combo amplifier also shakes off the standard black for a striking cream Tolex covering with gold trim.

Harmony-Central Reviews

Palomino V3212 30W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp Cream*

Also the 30 watt version for $299 - $35 (use the promo code MF23)

The Palomino V3212 is an enhanced single channel amplifier for the tone and feel fanatic. It operates in Class A configuration, and generates 30W RMS through two 12" Celestion speakers. The enhanced Class A circuit runs four Groove Tube EL84s at full output at all times to deliver instant response and rich harmonics which are the hallmark of these classic circuit designs. The V3212 guitar amp has an internal footswitchable spring reverb unit to produce a huge, wet sound, and quite possibly may be the best sounding 30W class A tube amp on the market. Footswitchable boost, too. To complement it's unique sound, the Palomino guitar speaker also shakes off the standard black for a striking cream Tolex covering with gold trim. This is a lot of amp in a unit that still manages to be conveniently portable. Saddle up!

Consumed by the fires of....

...a passionate love...I shall not be around much for a while as I am indeed consumed and rather pre-occupied by the woman of my dreams!! :) New music will come when I get my brain back into the correct gear...could be a month or two though!!

At the moment my musical talents are defunct...can't string two notes together, never mind a phrase!! hahaha!!

But I ma writing lyrics in both French and English at an alarming rate.

I may need to look for some help to make one of these lyrical love letters into a nice prog rock ballad (En Francaise) if anyone interested? I would be looking for a nice vocal and nice guitar...(You reading this Rick?!!!)

Anyway, that'll be a while yet as have some amorous adventures to embark on both here and in Bruxelles, and at the moment those are taking up almost all of my time!

Will be bak from time to time with maybe something ew which may appear in my head in a flash of ispiration!!

Thanks to all my great friends here on the mix who support my miserable efforts with some nice comments

Gordon
Self-Centered Man

On this one pretty straight forward, I am a Bus Driver in the greater Seattle, Wa. area, and after have been here for some time and watching their driving, well.....It just came out as I explain, that and also with Tecnology and cell phones on the road, don't get me wrong I have one too, but most people can't drive safely and talk on the phone, I see it all day long, so that came into play, and thinking how thoughtful we used to be and we are not as much these days, people not remembring names of other people, and oh yes, how we can have a relationship with someone unknown, ( the internet) I was a little "pissed and disgusted with what I was seeing and experiencing, obviously ! :) ....thanks for stopping by,,,, Don't be a Self-Centered Man or/ Women ! :) Gary
