Videos

Just posted two new videos on my video page. They are both live performances of my band Red Velvet Mojo performing at the Lilburn 100 year birthday bash back in October. Audio is not the best as it was recorded with a flip recorder, but it's not bad. Hope you like them!

Album Update

I know it's been a while since I posted, but I wanted to let you know how my album is doing. I've been working on this for over a year with Cass Anawaty at Sunbreak Music in Oregon. With Mark Zonder(Fates Warning, Slavior, Warlord) on drums, Jeff Leonard(Upper Left Trio) on bass, Clay Giberson(Upper Left Trio)on piano, Benji Wertheimer on percussion, this has turned out to be truly first class. The masters are done and have been sent to duplication and I should have product in hand before Christmas. I would like to thank everyone here, especally Dazed, for all the encouragement I've been given over the years. There are so many talented people on this site and it's amazing to see how it has grown. I will be releasing some of the material to the radio show hosts for play on the shows, though for the time being I won't be able to post for streaming. I will offer some free downloads on my webpage, www.brianfutch.com , and as soon as I get my e-store set up, I'll let you know. Once again, thanks! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving and may you have an even better Christmas!

Memorial Day

By bdfutch, 2010-05-30

Being a veteran myself, it's very important to me to always remember those who've give their lives in service to my country. I wrote this song last year to honor those made the ultimate sacrifice. While it is not the final version, this is the latest mix of my song, "When A Hero Dies" that will be on my upcoming album "And Then There Were Songs" scheduled for release in August 2010. Please have a listen and say a prayer of thanks.

<param name="src" value=&quotBrian Futch "When A Hero Dies" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="385" src=&quotBrian Futch "When A Hero Dies"; wmode="transparent">

Hey Mixposure Folks

By bdfutch, 2010-01-18

It's been a while since I've been around. I just don't seem to have much down time anymore. Due to the economic downturn, my company closed my store and moved me into sales. I'm thankful I still have a job at this point, but it requires much more attention due to the fact that I'm in a learning mode. I'm also in the middle of recording a new album featuring some of my songs from the last two years, including "That's It" from the Same Song Title Madness from last year. I'm working with Paul Russell, Calamity Studios in Singapore, Thailand and Cass Anawaty, Sunbreak Studios in Oregon. Both are top notch at what they do and after my trip to Oregon in December to do the vocal tracks, I am very excited about where this is headed. We're planning a national release around March/April timeframe. In addition to the album, my band Red Velvet Mojo is starting to gain some traction in Atlanta. We've been able to land some gigs over the past couple of months and have two more scheduled in the near future. You can check our site www.redvelvetmojo.com for show schedule and links to our Myspace site and Facebook page. On top of all that, add in a wife and 5 beautiful daughters who have many, many activities which require attention, my life is quite busy right now. Hopefully things will settle down a bit this summer and I'll be able to participate more. Just wanted to say hey to everbody at Mixposure, I haven't forgotten you!

Been a While

By bdfutch, 2009-09-03

It's been a while since I've been on here. Been very busy with my band, Red Velvet Mojo, family stuff, job. I'm still here though. I'll be playing this weekend with a band from our church for a long family camp weekend. We had to learn 33 songs in two and a half weeks, aaaaargh! I'll have fun, but will also be glad when its over. Between practicing with the two bands, preparing for this weekend and our festival gigs, I haven't had time to spit. Hope everyone is well here, been listening to some new music today and, as usual, top shelf stuff being put out on Mixposure. Hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend(U.S.) the rest of you living abroad, have a great weekend as well!
