Would like to thank all the friends involved with making of Nanaimo's own RPM Classic Rock Band Video from Nanaimo. Produced by Dwight Gray, Bill Smith, Jay Sommerville, and engineered by Kevin Marcy.

RIP to my long-term bass-playing friend and bandmate Paul Third. We played on beaches, in churches, parks, outdoor venues, wineries, and many more special memorable places. He's in Rock n Roll heaven now and I'm hoping I see this incredible father and friend again. He is survived by his daughter Katie. - Jay Somerville

Paul was such a lovely man - and a gifted bass player. Paul and Jay were the rocks we all swirled around on those jam nights - Dave Jsomething

So sad to hear my good friend Paul Third passed away suddenly today. Paul was the bass player of one of the first bands (R.P.M.) when I arrived in Nanaimo some 30 years ago. He was a fan of Peavey basses, always wanted us to have the best sound with the equipment we had, which wasn't much. We opened for Jerry Doucette in Victoria and had some pretty cool musical adventures. Most of all Paul was the guy who would do anything for a bandmate or friend. He would re-wire your amp, fix your mics and patch chords and never ask for a dime. We had a reunion and took this picture back in 2013 but I lost track of him a few years ago which I really regret. I'm going to miss you Paul. You were a very kind man with a good soul. Rest easy now buddy. - Bill Smith

I remember going to watch RPM play at the Commie all the time. I always like watching them play cause they had such a variety of classic rock music. One time the Houserockers were playing in Parksville at Sand Castles Days and we finished our show at 1 o'clock then rush out to Frontiersman Pub at Coombs to watch RPM play. I always enjoyed their music. What a rockin band RPM - Kevin (Bud) Marcy
