I understand that the idea behind recording songs for Rob was to express our love and support. It was never intended to be a contest. However, having listened to all 40+ songs I have to adnit that I couldn't help it and created my own Top 5 chart. In my humble opinion the winners are:

1. Farrell Jackson - Restless Mind
2. Rapster - Blues for Rob
3. IJenNeh - Leaning
4. Chrickon - Energy - for Rob
5. Soundtrapper - My Guitar Plays for Rob

I wonder how y'all's charts look like...

...I just did`nt want to be nominated as Joe`s top choice, that sucks !!......I am his partner after all :-)

...and I really am not one for entering contests, I know this is`nt one..All the songs that I`ve heard are wonderful, wish I could say I`ve heard them all, but I hav`nt. I feel that love really is where this site`s at, all for one, and one for all....eheheee

Hurry back to us Rob, might be nice if you do a song for US, something to get well for......ahah, lol.. :-)

The honor of a song and its artist(s) is when it brings the listener enjoyment. You have simply stated the songs in a "special" catagory that have special enjoyment to you. You also stated what we all know and appreciate..it's not a contest. (As you,I would never think that any of songs written for Rob were done so in a competitive manner.)
You have not done anything wrong or unethical.
We are all proud of each other for the offering of support for our friend and we all have our own taste of sounds we enjoy.

Wow! I just got here and there are already 14 comments! DrC you really know how to get folks involved here, lol! I saw nothing offensive about your comment, request, or list at all. Personally, I really like your #1 choice, LOL!
I agree, although all the song's for Rob are a joy to listen to because of the love and healing reasons they were written, I do like some better than others. You did state that you realize it's not a contest so nobody should take offense. You were just putting your personal preferences out there. I see nothing wrong with that.

My sincere apologies to everyone who felt offended with my Top 5. Like I said, I fully realize that Songs for Rob never intended to be a contest. They are all amazing, and of course they all are created in the spirit of friendship, love, and support. It's just happened that I liked some of them a tiny bit more than others. I truly regret that I made my personal feelings puplic. I should have known better. After all, I'm not a politician or president to be allowed to exercise poor judgement :-)

You took time and showed care,that automaticly makes you number 1 and I think Rob will agree.
No harm in a personal top 5 though,it is just Doc's opinion and he is entitled to that after all

as did most everyone else imho.. better no lists.. no one left out..

Joey, I`d expect you to put my song forward, you`re my partner after all...BUT I did`nt enter a contest with my song for Rob, nor do I wish to...It was done for ROB not for a contest to see who`s best...We`re all best in the fact that we care to help get Rob back up and playing and collabing...That was my reason for singing a song for Rob to Rob`s own music...ehheeee....Now that is tops, Rob`s music....!!! ehheeeee
