The truest tale of the blackest time past,
Hateful woe, of our starving last fast,
The behemoth huge, and so relentless,
Considered now, is to be regardless.
The Ice age is past, that ended all life,
That tale is true, but think of one thing,
Science is no lawful master,
Truth is told of the worst disaster.
Smallest sting, do wretched wring,
Wings of truth, our hopes do bring.
That ship of war, our globe’s desire,
Is sabotaged, though vengeful fire,
Through love and loyalty, our master,
We slavest not, though worst disaster.
Naked children all around, scanty hopes, doth surround,
Surrendered hope, tells of truest madness,
For in this world, so rules such badness,
The loving story is cast before you,
The darkest shores of witness, most true.
Rising metre, horror growing,
Warning signs, and fateful glowing,
Steadfast we, the dreadful few,
Do tell the tale, so awful true.
Down from the trees, unto the plains,
Begins the song of death’s refrains,
Comfort, trees of homes and land lost,
Conflicts, strife, we future’s compost,
Times long past, and stellar mass fails,
The winds of fate, our future not sails.
Though scattered few, we world abroiling
Sulphuric fires, through past unfolding,
The growing tides of written, spoken,
Would not allow our world be broken.
The works of greatest, those who toiled,
Will not allow our hopes be soiled.
Sword and fire, legion's master,
Nuclear fire, our friend's disaster,
Upon thy deathbed, might thou thankful,
Lest nature, fully, seek thou wrathful.
Sword and fire, legion's master,
Nuclear fire, our friend's disaster,
Upon thy deathbed, might thou thankful,
Lest nature, fully, seek thou wrathful.
Did I to you, our hopes betray, never loving thoughts away,
Take our hopes, but not the fire, timely seek, no last delay.
Indictment surely, help me face this,
My only love, wast born thy fortress,
So would you murder, love my own?
Thy future, heart I do disown.
Sword and fire, legion's master,
Nuclear fire, our friend's disaster,
Upon thy deathbed, might thou thankful,
Lest nature, fully, seek thou wrathful.
Sword and fire, legion's master,
Nuclear fire, our friend's disaster,
Upon thy deathb
ed, might thou thankful,
Lest nature, fully, seek thou wrathful.

Hauntingly beautiful.
Thank you very much indeed, it took a very long time to get that right.
The real point is that from the disasters of the past, we can anticipate the problems of the future, although with the way things are, knowing what the future holds doesn't help many people at all.
enjoyed this historical journey of struggle put to an amazing song, vocal work is special!
