I remember walking the other day in the park, your little crow’s feet were next to mine.
Well, you came down from the sky, and then you met my eye, oh, and then you turned to me and pecked me on the cheek.
Said I could not remember if it were a sin, when you found the door inside of me that ended up letting you in, but man, oh boy, it sure felt nice..
And I said oh little scarecrow, just point me the right way, I said I’m just looking for my baby.
It’s been a while and I miss her smile and I’ve been walking for so long. So many miles that I can barely stand it anymore.
Just the other day, well I thought I saw a face. But the desert ain’t no good for showing mercy. So then I kept upon my path, moving through the aftermath, and upon my name I swear that I ain’t never looked back. But you’re still on my mind, I don’t need to look behind, a smile on my face, yeah, could surely let you know why. And man, oh boy it still feels nice.
I said oh little scarecrow, just point me the right way, I said I’m just looking for my baby.
It’s been a while and I miss her smile and I’ve been walking for so long. So many miles that I can barely stand it anymore.
And then in my sight one day, a broken path lay in my way- was a cemetery stuck between a river. You see my day had finally come, when I could let that water run, and wash me down beside my lovin baby. So then I jumped into the stream, letting go of this wild dream, and I joined my baby, down in the cool water. And man, oh boy, it still feels nice.
I said oh little scarecrow, just point me the right way, I said I’m just looking for my baby.
It’s been a while and I miss her smile and I’ve been walking for so long. So many miles that I can barely stand it anymore.
Oh, so many miles, that I can barely stand it.
