Hi!

Since I was thirteen years old i'm playing guitar and in the following years I'm playing in a few bands. At this time punk rock was on its way and so me and my friends playing punk, british style.

One time I saw a video of Springsteen live, the song he played, was Thunder Road. From this time I changed my musical horizon overseas and I became a fan of American style of music.

I'm listening to Springsteen, Neil Young (the best musician and songwriter in the world), John Mellencamp, Willy De Ville and others. Another great influence for me was the little ol' Band from Texas ZZ Top and the Godfathers of Punk, the Ramones.

My friends I play with, turning her musical activities to Heavy Metal, Disco or breakin' with playin' music to build families and to work on business careers. So do I. My guitars turn to things to remember of a long time gone youth. Sometimes I play acoustic guitar and harmonica for myself. I was a living-room rock'n'roller.

Now, more than twenty years later, I found myself living in a Dead End Street and I know that I made a big mistake turning my back on playing music, writing lyrics, havin' fun. Music was my first love and I let my first love go to hell.

All the songs on my first album Desert Bones are made in two to three hours, from the first idea to end the mastering. I've read about GnR Frontman Axel Rose, and that he's working over 15 years on a new record. What a dumbass, he can make music all day and night, don't think about what next day brings. His rent is payed! That man must be punished for wastin' time. Oh, I'm wasting time, too. Please, dont' punish me too hard.

If you listen to my music and you like it or not, don't forget, if you call it music, art or crap, it's always a piece of my heart.

Best wishes!

Derek Van Hold
