BECAUSE I KNOW YOU ALL LIKE THE OLD SKOOL ROCK AND BLUES STUFF, I DUG UP ANOTHER ONE OF MY ROCK TRACKS FROM 1990. :D
THIS SONG IS A BIT IN THE BRYAN ADAMS STYLE, MIXED WITH T-REX, AND HAS A KIND OF 50`S STYLE, ALMOST COUNTRY STYLE BRIDGE. :D
A SONG ABOUT BREAKING UP.
YOU KNOW, WHERE YOU SCREWED UP, AND THE RELATIONSHIP IS FALLING APART, AND YOU´RE TRYING TO FIND A WAY TO KEEP IT TOGETHER, BECAUSE YOU REALISE THAT YOU REALLY LOVE THIS ONE. :D
WE´VE ALL BEEN THERE. :D
CREDITS;
DICARLO; MUSIC & LYRICS
DICARLO; GUITARS, BASS, DRUMS, LEAD VOCAL & BACKING VOCALS
JOE & JORG; BACKING VOCALS
RECORDED ANALOG ON AN OTARI 8 TRACK IN 1990 AT THE SAME STUDIO I RECORDED THE SONG BEFORE THIS ONE "YOU DID IT TO ME".
NOTE; THIS IS ANOTHER ONE THAT WAS COPIED FROM A CASSETTE OF THE MASTER TAPE TO MINI DISC, AND THEN TO CD, AND WORKED ON IN THE COMPUTER TO BETTER THE SOUND A BIT. I HOPE TO GET ALL THESE ANALOG MASTER TAPES COPIED DIRECT TO CD ONE OF THESE DAYS, AND THEN WORK ON THEM AGAIN.
NOT THAT I COULD SELL THESE SONGS, BECAUSE THIS STYLE IS VERY DATED,AND WOULD HAVE TO BE TOTALLY RE-ARRANGED AND MAYBE PUT OUT BY A YOUNG ROCK BAND.
STILL A GOOD SONG, AND COULD BE A HIT. :D
PEACE,
D

It really crosses between the Beach Boys and Brit Pop!!! SUPER TRACK!!! The chorus reminded me of Todd Rundgren......not the sound, but the style of his earlier material. I can feel the sweat running down my face......wanting to ask that girl to dance....BUT!! I never did, always too shy

Ah yes ...Vintage recordings..( have 100's of em) from the late 70-80-90's all very kool to hear them!.
Like a part in this toons says..."lets not through it all away" I firmly believe that one should never disgard an idea of any sort. ..musically and or lyrically , cause what comes around usually stems from our past. Down the road... that could pay residues for one.
I have re-done an old toon with fresh input and energy..applyed different techiques in the recording angle and have some kool results....sure changing things up...makes it all good.
Now...on the other hand if someone had come in on this page without reading the "about "section provided , i believe you would have serious complaints about the lack of bottom end on that cow bell bro.... just what the hell were you thinking back then..lol.. the shame of it.
For the content of this toon? ya..a well written toon for the era and the year in was concieved...again, has alot of Eddie Money style..mixed with Beach boy harmonies...(is that a chick do harmonies?)..j/k lol.
Enjoyed hearing D, as always...nice job in bringin the analog data up to this standard for audio playback today...cause she sure is clean...and very crisp.
Thanks for posting this D. Enjoyed this !
p.s.... that solo almost blew my eyebrows off ! lots of fun to hear!

Yeah it does have a vintage vibe to it. I, too, would like more thump from the bass and kick drum, and a bit more drive edge on the guitar, but you did say it was from an old cassette version. Been there, done that, and know there is only so much you can do with it.
Nice tune, great lyrics -- solid performance.

one more try.. to reach the pie in the sky`this osunds like one the pop industry might like..
didn't read the info Di.. don't know who's singin.. hey.. that's the beach boys in the hook..
man they sold trillions so it's plausible that this one could sell.. your mix is great.. big sound..
lot of verb on the drums.. i personally would rather hear the bass loud and the guitars a bit softer.. maybe it's because the guitars are stock sounding.. but again.. industry standard lol.. I think the hook is really catchy for affectionados of this genre so you might have a winner.. you know I love the jazz Di more.. but i know you got to stock the store.. a producer has to offer everything and more.. cheers my master drummer and mixer brother..

pretty cool tune Di. I like the harmonies. Guitar rhythm track is definitely a throw back to the 80's I will pass on the mix comments since you mentioned how this one was done. It still sounds ok in that retro spirit.
