MUSIC has always been a huge part of me, my PASSION...it started at age 6-7...Later on, I tried playing guitar, that didn't go well and found that I loved HOUSE MUSIC in the late 1970's. About that time, DJ's were mixing tracks in dance clubs and discos...BUT, it was WBMX-Oakpark/Chicago and the HOT MIX 5..."Ain't No Jive, Saturday Night Live" radio mix shows that made the biggest impact on me...the music, programing and how they mixed it...using 2 vinyl copies to edit/remix and effect the tracks-LIVE...was just mind blowing at the time. I bought a cheap mixer, 2 belt drive turntables and learned how to beat mix, belt drive decks don't work well for mixing!................... I'm now using the new MAC PRO BOOK with TRAKTOR 3.4 DJ mixing software, FireWired into the new KORG ZERO 8 channel live mixer, with the KAOSS PAD touch screen effects built into the mixer, 2 CDJ 1000's and 2 MK3 1200's turntables. I MUST ADMIT, THE SYSTEM SIMPLY KICKS. I have mixed for years on PIONEER 500's, 600,s and 800's, but this MAC/KORG/TRAKTOR set-up takes it to a new level!!!!............................Many artists have made an impact on me over the years...but it's ERIC PRYDZ, MILES DYSON, CHRIS LAKE, SASHA, SHARAM, DUBFIRE, DEEP DISH vibe and the artists they remix or program that have had a big influence on me...ESPECIALLY what ERIC PRYDZ has been creating, producing and remixing on all of his labels, in the 2-3 years is BRILLIANT. I must include Max Graham as another influence, his production, programing and mixing is excellent. He is one of the best at creating the rolling, layered climax, subsonic BASS and just slamiin PROGRESSIVE house.
