Calexico By Morning

Sleeping down where the river bends
Dreaming I’m lying in your bed.
Red lights, blue lights shine —
Under the moon I wake too soon,
Alone again.

On to Calexico and the borderline,
The sheriff and his boys riding close behind,
The church choir singing hot on an August night.
Hallelujah.

Blood stains still coloring the sand.
You’re free — I’m a wanted man.
In the dark of night
Red turns the moon,
And death sings its tune inside my head.

I hear the hound dogs wailing to my right,
The borderline is glowing bright,
The church choir singing gospel with delight.
Hallelujah.
Singing hallelujah.

It’s on to Calexico and the borderline,
The sheriff riding close behind,
The church choir singing me a lullaby.

Sleeping down where the river bends
Dreaming I’m lying in your bed.
Red lights, blue lights shine —
Under the moon I wake too soon.

Hallelujah.
Hallelujah.
Hallelujah.
Hallelujah.

It's on to Calexico and the borderline,
The sheriff and his boys riding close behind,
The church choir singing hot on an August night.
Hallelujah.

New song: Calixco By Morning This one closes out A Jones For Self‑Destruction — Chapter II.

Not quite ready to let it out into the world yet. Just leaving a trace here… for whoever’s meant to find it later.

A little border‑dust hymn. A little outlaw sunrise. A little quiet reckoning at the edge of the map.

It’ll find its moment. For now, it just lives here.
