The Thrill

The thrill don't thrill me anymore.
Life don't fit me like it should.
Newbies hustled through the gate,
Lifers sweeping floors.
Life don't fit me anymore.

My body's here,
But my mind is gone.
I'm everywhere,
But where I want to be.
I once was young,
Now I'm old.
Life don't fit me anymore.
And the thrill don't thrill me.

Micky's blue-eyed angel was my favorite girl.
You could rent her body with the hotel room.
A China doll of the Orient,
Skin like a pearl.
Micky's blue-eyed angel was my favorite girl.

My heart was true,
And my love was strong.
She fell into my arms so naturally,
A smoking gun.
Micky's body cold,
Dead before it hit the floor.
Somebody's knocking on the door.
The thrill don't thrill me anymore.

She used to come and see me in the joint,
Flash some skin and slip me cigarettes.
I said,

"If I can't touch your body, baby,
What's the fucking point?"

Now she don't come and see me in the joint.

My body's here,
But my mind is gone.
I'm everywhere,
But where I want to be.
I once was young,
Now I'm old.
This life don't fit me.

Life don't fit me.
Life don't fit me.

And the thrill don't thrill me anymore.
