Can a recording be “too perfect?”

Center Stage

The ultimate test is a live solo instruments IMO in that case the answer
'Can A Recording Be “Too Perfect?”" be no.
Depends on the context and purpose of the recording.
A recording of a live Hammond B3 organ can never do justice to being in ones presence live. To capture a solo violin realistically a stereo mike set up and a revox reel to reel can get close.
some of the finest live classic Jazz recordings are still stereo miked tape.
So a lot depends on the meaning of too perfect.
The term "over produced' might be a better term to use.
The answer is yes it happens many times and always has.
the best artists when to stop...I think Picasso said that one.

Disappointed

Collaboration

Collabs seem few and far between except for certain groups.
Maybe instead of collaboration someone would rather collude.
Anyone want todo a collusion?
Let me know. I have a guitar and a bass some drum tracks I bought.

Introduction

I used to keep just two guitars, a strat and a box, but I got bored and needed more variety of sounds so bout more electrics but I have no room for electric guitar cases so I have a gator bass case...I got the idea from Frank, "one size fits all"
thas fine, but, except my box of course, it has to have its own. I just acquired a Charvel Pro Mod and it comes with a case I think Ill have to keep...in the trunk of the car :-)

recently Ive been thinking of getting another amp like a fender deluxe to get some clean tones...but...naw...
