Christa is a Toronto based composer, performer, and multi-instrumentalist. Her solo project, "Intended Creation," is an exploration of genre and style, instrumentation, and both intended and improvisational composition. As a composer, Christa studied with Linda Caitlin Smith and David Mott, and upon the completion of her composition degree at York University, she began writing and recording her portfolio, which includes work from her upcoming album, as well as other instrumental and experimental works intended for film, dance, and other mediums and disciplines. Christa is inspired, simply, by sound, and the the endless sonic possibilities that exist everywhere and at all times, waiting for vindication. As a performer, Christa has studied privately on alto sax, djembe, drum kit, guitar, and piano and she dabbles on whatever instruments she can afford to get her hands on. Concerning performance and instrumentation, Christa is primarily interested in the sound capabilities of each instrument, and by exploring these options and removing instruments from their pre-determined roles in the world of music and the classifications of genre, a vast array of sound can be accessed and applied.

Christa has been performing live as an acoustic artist in Toronto since the summer of 2008, and future performance plans carry with them the intention of large ensembles, featured acoustic and electronic instrumentalists and performers, world music, and the integration of other performance mediums focusing on, but not limited to, the relationship between text and music, not only sonically but as an exploration of the concept of communication itself.
