a great question.!

By jvtuttle, 2008-12-18

I have listened to my mixes in a large room and my lead guitars volume is too low.Long wave lenghts are bass
and short wave lengths have high wave lenghts
so you hear the long wave lenghts in a room but not the short ones

Here.s the million dollar question
What frequency and decibel (yes, named after alexander grahm bell) See deci-Bells are your amplitude (strenght) and frequency is wave lenght...can you tell me what amplitude and or frequency I should use to fill a big room
two new songs

two new songs

let me tiip you on this one when you mix a song..
bass has the longest wave lengyh
a high note has the shortest wave length when you mix you have to keep this in mind. I didn't and in a large room i couldn't discern my lead guitar licks..So how do you send high notes out there!!
A friend suggested using head phones...you know they do
use head phones in the studio.

I add...head phones use a smaller speaker
where as if you judge by stereo speakers..the sound goes out to all sides...plus if it's a lower volume you can better judge what will be a higher volume.....hope you like my songs, thanks, joel

what if the song doesn't end..??..!!

By jvtuttle, 2008-11-02

The song has got to "draw" an ending..what i was trying to say
ils , the song won't register in peoples minds if you don't have a good ending ..a kiss off..Almend brothers are good at ending there songs. A real long acumulation..for lack of a better word.
My bet i;s... that if you learn to end your songs tastfully you will learn to make your songs better.

geese monster

GEESE MONSTER!!....
not much more to say
i can tell you how to play using minimal contrast
when you go for the lead make sure to use bass notes to counteract or compliment your high notes
keep it together....have a nice day
