Kiria is a passionate singer, songwriter, guitarist, arranger and producer.

Born in North London, she picked up a guitar at thirteen, and at seventeen joined a string of different bands as rhythm guitarist, lead and bass guitar - and never looked back. She began writing her own songs and founded her own all girl band "Friction" in 2002. By 2004 she felt it was time to bite the bullet, step up and front her music herself, followed by extensive live shows and songwriting.

Kiria writes original, intelligent and extremely infectious Pop Music, drawing on a host of diverse influences, including Morrissey, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, Prince, lots of Reggae and film music, including Marilyn Monroe. The resulting songs are quirky, perky and witty, but with a deadly kick. They look at life and its difficulties from the perspective of a young girl growing up in an often hostile and threatening adult world.

2008 saw Kiria's first release, a song on which London comedian/singer Paul Kaye guested as "Mike Strutter". She has just completed her debut album "Number One" due for release in early 2009 and has already started work on her second.

Roaring like a big cat, Kiria's naughty, critical but charming lyrics touch raw emotions with all the power and timeless quality of the greatest pop music.
