Biography

Maybe it is sweetheart, sweet butt, buttercup, or hot pants, but most every couple has a pet name that they use no matter how much it sickens their friends and family. The Deedles, husband and wife songwriting team Garrett and Jamie Briggeman from the nationally touring bluegrass act The DeWayn Brothers are not afraid to using their loving moniker to label the songs they write as well. The Deedles started as a testing ground for songs written by Jamie and Garrett that didn’t seem to work with the bluegrass format or some that did, and were worked into DeWayn Brothers songs. “Cheap Whiskey” for example started as a Deedles song and was adapted into DeWayn after it received such a good response in The Deedles. It also served as an outlet for Jamie to get out her sparkling pink guitar, kick on some distortion, and show the people that bluegrass singing isn’t the only place in music where she shines bright! A true rocker at heart, this is the music she was born to play: her songs, her style, and her way! Growing up under similar circumstances have made it very easy to write and sing about life, love, loss, and the things experienced living the last five years on the road. Their debut CD “NeveroddoreveN” was recorded by Jamie Garner in Maple Grove, MN and is scheduled to be released in September of 2009. Joining Garrett and Jamie on the drums is fellow DeWayn Brother Josh Finley. Josh is setting the mandolin aside, picking up the drums sticks, and slappin the "H" out of those skins! Hailing from Halstead, KS, Josh is still handling all of the artistic aspects of the band with brand new posters and artwork. Colorado native Adam "Tarzano" Smith has taken the reins as bass player for The Deedles. Adam is a seasoned road vet as well, having toured nationally with Denver based bluegrass band "Oakhurst" for over five years. Adam packs tons of energy, and skill into his playing and is one of the best all around musicians to be on stage with. The Deedles are a return to the Rock and Roll roots of the music we all grew up with and started playing.
