SINGING FOR PEACE IN GEORGIA
An international movement is underway to sing for peace in Georgia.

For those of you who are unaware, Russia has been occupying many parts of central and western Georgia as a response to fighting that started in the mountainous district of South Ossetia on August 7th 2008. Besides damaging and/or threatening the Georgian infrastructure which already has serious negative implications for the Georgian, Armenian and Azerian economies, Russia and Russian backed separatists are preventing aid relief to thousands of civilians. In support of these civilians, singers of Georgian song from around the world are performing in solidarity on Wednesday August 20.

In Toronto come and show your support

DARBAZI at METRO HALL, downtown Toronto, 1pm

GEORGIAN SINGERS AND DANCERS in Toronto at CITY HALL, Toronto, 7pm.

For other parts of the world (France, England, USA, etc.) consult the listings at http://georgie.rizzanese.fr/

Rapster,
Thank you for your comment. I did attend the city hall evening event. The music and dancing was beautiful. My friends are having a very rough time of it, however have been able to concentrate their energies toward creating a resonance of peace through their creativity and beautiful culture.
Peace,
Paul
