Thought I might share some good news. I entered four sets of lyrics in the UK/International Songwriting Competition. Three of the lyrics were Semi-Finalists and the last, Dark Eyes, was a finalist. Out of 6,200 Worldwide entries, I don't think that is too bad!!! Hee-Hee thank you all so much for your kind words. Makes it all so worth while, and I just love the fact that everyone here at Mix is so encouraging!! Dark Eyes was always the song I was most worried about and now here she is already being put to music by two most amazing musicians, can't wait til she comes to life!!! Thank you all again. Congratulations Mel. The quality of the words of that song jumped out at my the first time I read them. Puts a bit of pressure on the music writer though doesn't it....lol. Just to let you know, I've redone the backing track with some minor adjustments to some of the chords, and I've brought up the electric piano in the mix at the suggestion of our secret "guest artist". If it's okay with you I'm going to give it a test run "live" at my gig tonight and then do an acoustic version at a gig I'm at on Tuesday. That way I should be well rehearsed for Wednesday when I go into the studio.
