Thanks Dazed. Long story short, this song was recorded on a four track cassette deck in about 1989. I stripped a completlely different singer, lyrics and melodies off the track and re-recorded it on my belly in a cube made of couch cushions to muffle the sound so my apartment neighbors wouldn't hear. So you are correct and have a good ear. I don't think I have access to the backing track anymore so unfortunatly this is about as good as it is going to get.
Hey Greg! Mix could use a few tweaks. I am hearing some clipping on the guitars. Vocals I think are a bit too wet. Sounds like you are in a tunnel. There is a vocal section on mixing help - http://www.mixposure.com/index.php?t=jr_mixing that you may want to look at.
A rockin' track, with a late 60's psychedlic Garage Band sound.......there are bands out there trying to caprure this sound and failing miserably.....you got it!!! Great Job!!!
