The vocal melody and cadence reminds me of the Mersey Beat groups coming out of The UK in the early sixties. The slide guitar solo is unique as you mentioned. I agree, it gives the song an updated coolness factor. Excellent production, I enjoyed the listen.
Thank you Farrel! I had the chord sequence in a different key and It begged for a song. My band mates hated the solo but my sax teacher said it was perfect and not to touch it. I agreed with him as I love it. Off the cuff with the wang bar.
