<p>From Moita, Portugal, NEW MECANICA started in the summer of 1997. Under the name DRIFT AWAY, they&rsquo;ve composed a few tracks with traditional Heavy Metal influences with a Gothic touch. In 2000, the band retouches their sound, leaving a considerable set of tracks behind, and changes their name to RESET. In January/February 2001, the band records their debut demo-CD in the Cabral brothers Boom Studios.</p>
<p>After a few shows, the band records their second Demo-CD in November 2003 at Floyd Studios entitled &ldquo;Freedom&rdquo; with five new tracks. Produced by Nuno Loureiro (Painstruck&rsquo;s guitarist) and the band, &ldquo;Freedom&rdquo; reveals a more aggressive RESET and directioned to modern Metal edges. During 2004 e 2005, the band strongly promotes &ldquo;Freedom&rdquo;, being picked up for six music contests, won the 2nd place on the music contest in Anadia (Portugal), the shooting of &ldquo; A Matter of Pride&rdquo; video clip and three tracks being include on the Bodyboarding documentary &ldquo;Hot Spots&rdquo;.</p>
<p>The year of 2006/2007 was used to record a new CD. Entitled &ldquo;Love and Hate&rdquo;, the CD was produced by Daniel Cardoso (Headcontrol System,Del). This work can be described as intense, energic, muscle, with catchy melodies, envolved by sensitive lyrics and steps the band into it&rsquo;s most mature state musical yet. During 2007, the band also played several shows and won the 2nd place on the 3rd modern music contest in Setubal (Portugal). So in the year of 2008 and due to the fact that exists other bands with the same name, the band changes their name to NEW MECANICA, signs with the U.K. label, Casket Music/Copro Records, and&nbsp; launched the &ldquo;Love&amp;Hate&rdquo; CD on the 28th of July .</p>
