This cool review by mike milillo led to this blog.. to answer his question as to the concept of this composition.. the reasons why it was created thusly..

I enjoy anything that allows the mind to not be encompassed by tradition or an institutionalized way of thought. I would like to hear why you wrote specifically the way you wrote this. I understand the title to some degree, I just would enjoy the mind behind it. The serial classical overtones are lovely. Does the chaotic interlude have a specific purpose as in the New World Order?

new world order was written during the first gulf war in 1991.. george bush senior proclaimed it..
(a new world order) we have since only shamed it.. more broadly it depicts in antiphonal form the continuing saga of a frail misguided humanity (as portrayed by the wind quintet) versus the relentless might of the industrial/military complex jugernaut (portrayed by the electronic instruments).. pt.2, although written and performed in 1991 intutively seemed to fit gulf war part 2 under george bush junior.. a show was made live on CNN.. SHOCK AND AWE it was billed.. how appropriate my part 2 then.. the unexpected explosions in the midst of an unsuspecting humanity (the wind quintet).. in 1991 we didn't have the quality of samples (especially for the classical instruments) that we do now.. I did like the heavy metal like smashing rhythms though and thought they portrayed the war machine quite well.. I performed everything on the keyboard live one part at a time via midi into Motu's digital performer as i was on Macs back then.. I have never used quantizing, preferring to manually adjust all the details.. that's what I remember.. I only had a cassete of the piece and so with 2 shure sm58s in front of my ghetto blaster I recorded into audition and then converted to mp3.. considering the primtive nature of the preservation of this piece.. I think it sounds damn good.. LOL..

<p>well sorry but I had to get this tribute song to one of the truly great men of our century right.. </p><p>I grew up in california during the chavez era.. a true american hero, the martin luther king for chicanos (mexican americans).. my long lost guitar roommate of 30 years ago sean cruz is running for the oregon state senate district 23 .. a fighter for people's rights and the environment.. I sure hope sean get's into office.. he sent me lyrics from a song he had written about cesar chavez so rapster and I jumped right on it and made this song overnight.. remember cesar chavez.. remember LA CAUSA.. </p><p> </p><p> </p>
nicky quick is rapster's musical counterpart.. rapster does the vocals/lyrics/guitars, I do the synths and beatz. now that we have reason 4 and flatpack 3 with audition 3.0 coming next month (nov. 07) we are gonna serve you up with homecooked beatz and compositions. I use no quantization, I line stuff up by feel, eye and ear. I love to drag and drop things where i want em in the sequencer, program my own drums, input my own basslines and keyboard voicings live, etc.. a mix of funky beatz with sophisticated harmonies from classical to jazz and all stops in between..
