Biography

Noble Lou Alim was Born Alim Rasul Mosley on April 11,1988 on the North Side of Saint Louis City, In what is known as the JVL(John Vander Lou). His name is taken from a famous Black leader of the early 20th century known as Noble Drew Ali, a leader who was seen as a prophet amongst black people in america. He was the last born of 6 children. Alim was born in a lower class neighborhood where drugs, gangs, shootings, and violence were prevalent. Through the years he would face that reality of his surroundings. Growing up he would witness drive by shootings, confrontations, people firing weapons in broad day light etc. He later witnessed love ones incarcerated, along with the separation of his parents when he was 9 years old. From there he moved to the ofallon park area of North Saint Louis City, where he was once again forced to witness the reality of a violent society. During this time he would come in contact with a few gang members. During this time he was forced to deal with the loss of his older brother to violence. Growing up without his father from age nine taught him alot of valuable lessons of life. Alim would often walk the streets of his neighborhoods in an attempt to erase his own inner problems and at the same time he would witness even bigger problems of those in his surroundings. He saw alot of things from prostitution to poverty, hustlin, etc. He learned how to survive with the support of the other people who were a part of his life. At age 15 he moved back to the JVL to witness the same type of enviorment he knew so well. The pain, stress, anxiety, and the overall struggle of Life is what influenced him to begin Rhyming. He saw Hip Hop as a input for his inner feelings and as a output for a message. Alim was always the quiet type until he started rapping at age 15 in his sophmore year of high school(Beaumont). From there he became more talkative but still quiet which set him apart from alot of other people. Because of his extended vocabulary, wisdom and knowledge he was always viewed as different from all of his peers. He grew up listening to alot of west coast HIP HOP at a very young age such as 2pac, Eazy-E, NWA, Spice 1 etc. He also listened to alot of East Coast Hip Hop such as Nas, Jay-Z, AZ, Kool G. Rap, Wu Tang Clan, The Notorious B.I.G etc. He listened to southern artists such as Scarface, Outkast, Goodie MOB etc. After the death of Big and Pac he slowy got away from HIP HOP due to the feeling and realism of life being taken out of it. He would later begin listening to HIP HOP again right before the beef between Nas and Jay-Z. During this time he would discover many emcees who would influence him to begin rhyming. Emcees such as Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Canibus, The Roots and others. He also went back in time and studied hip hop that was released before his time or during his baby years( releases from rappers such as Rakim, Big Daddy Kane and KRS ONE, to name a few.) This also influenced him to incorporate certain aspects of classic hip hop into modern hip hop in an attempt to pay homage to the originators but still keep his music within the realm of current reality. Overall Noble Lou Alim has been know to be a very unique, and sophisticated MC.
