There’s a bird and she’s flying out over the oceanThere’s a storm beating at your doorThere are eyes filled with raindrops,Hearts that lie brokenAnd nobody...
There’s a bird and she’s flying out over the ocean There’s a storm beating at your door There are eyes filled with raindrops, Hearts that lie broken And nobody knows what it’s for
There are dreams and prayers That will never be answered There’s a child crying before he is born There’s a cold wind that blows Through the world of emotions And nobody knows where it’s from
There’s sadness I feel whenever you hold me The heartache I’ll know when you’re gone There’s a silence you know It screams when you’re lonely And nobody knows where it’s from
There’s a light I feel on the edge of the darkness There’s a key made for every door And a face I see as the new day arises But nobody knows it at all…
(lyrics & music by Pete Klimek and Paul Q Dirksen)

I was there - I felt this - I saw it all happening and man it still sounds like it could! The sea of experience swells with pride, keep em coming...

very deep and heartfelt. I really enjoyed the vocals and the harmonies, sounds really good. The pace of the song is just right. Downloaded and will def play on my radio show Wednesdays. Thanks AJ

Pete Klimek was born in Prague and found himself in South Africa about the time the Russians occupied Czechoslovakia.

He picked up his guitar before an audience in 1977 to perform his own compositions and never quite put it down since... making his vocation that of an eternal series of auditions as singer/songwriter. He attained the “Sons Of England” literary award, a book by William Blake and vinyl record by Bob Dylan - the highest recognition of literary achievement at his senior school. Klimek was also ranked among the top 10 tennis players in SA and was offered a tennis scholarship to Tennessee, USA.

Together with artist, singer & songwriter, Paul Q, Pete chose poetry, lights and music to show him the world. Creativity brought him back to settle in the wonder of Europe in the 1990’s and the city of Rotterdam.

Pete's photography has been shamelessly featured in various Dutch publications. His music still echoes in the hallways and alleys of Holland, Germany, the UK, Spain, Czech Republic, Belgium and various radio stations between the continents. A series of documentaries were made and aired on "Good Morning South Africa”.

“Angels Dressed In Rainbows" is a luxurious anthology and collection of Pete Klimek's life-in-pages. This 'musography' was printed and launched in San Francisco by Andre Furlan (2009) in time for the successful St. Mary's Art Gallery exhibition and International "Festival Of Flowers".

WINNER International Book Awards 2010 "Poetry: Anthologies" Category:View from the Middle of the Road IV - Pathway to Dreams, compiled by Lucinda Clark (PRA Publishing 978-9821407-0-3) features four poets, among them selected works by Pete Klimek.
