The newest addition to the many "Lil's" in the hip hop music industry, Lil S.M.I.F, is a force to be reckoned with. His debut Mixtape, "Back To Tha Biz" (2012), went street known upon its release and even his best selling Mixtape is still certified as gold upon the Mixtape release by Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Despite his success in the music industry, Lil S.M.I.F's childhood experiences, like many other rap and hip hop singers, were far from perfect.
Born as Jalen Ladarious , Smith. on May 8, 1998 in Jackson, MS to Roderick Smith and Latasha Banks, who was then just starting to rap for the rest of his life, Lil S.M.I.F was forced to bid goodbye to his street father that died in a gunfight when he was only 7 year old. During that time, he and his mother were forced to survive by themselves in the criminal-infested community at The Queens Division of Jackson MS.
Fortunate enough, soon afterwards, his mother met Gregory Owens, who eventually became his stepfather. Years later, Lil S.M.I.F moved the family out from the poverty-stricken Queens to Ginger. By that time, Lil S.M.I.F had begun to develop his interest in hip hop and rap music.
