Rachel Thom is a singer/songwriter, guitarist and keyboardist originally from Edmonton Alberta. She has been living in Whistler, B.C. for 4.5 years and has a very full musical background. She has been performing since age 5, and competing since she was 8. She started songwriting when she was 10, and started playing guitar when she was 14. She has since recorded 2.5 albums of original music, with half of the proceeds from her first album going to Children’s Cancer Research. In Whistler, she performs mostly for the “Whistler Arts Council” , “Canadian Snowmobile Adventures”, and “The Whistler Farmers’ Market". Her brothers are also singer/songwriters, as well as her father. She has acquired a music mentor in New York City, and has traveled to Los Angeles to do some recording with top writers and producers in the industry who have worked with such names as Britney Spears, Pink, and Kelly Clarkson. Her song "Wear & Tear" was on rotation on Mountain FM which had been voted into the Fresh 5@5 dozens of times. She recently opened for fiddler Ashley MacIssaac on the Celebration Plaza Stage in Whistler. She is very excited about the yellow brick road that lies in front of her.
